The next morning, the girls had to stand up early. The second semester of school had started a few weeks before Fate went missing, and now she had a lot of catching up to do.
Fate and Jaden were at school early, they just had a two minute walk from their flat to get there. Until they sat down in the classroom, Jaden would hold her friends hand, and Fate's eyes would wander around restlessly.
A few of their classmates were there already, the mood was quiet and anxious among the students. Fate spaced out, until someone carefully tapped her shoulder.
"I heard what happened to you, I'm sorry. Let me know if I can help you with any of the schoolwork you missed out on", Fate heard an oddly familiar voice behind her.
The girl cautiously turned around and a strangled scream crossed her lips, as she nearly fell out of her chair. In front of her stood the girl. She was wearing a light purple dress with long sleeves and black over knees. Her yellow-blue eyes watched Fate, filled with worry and surprise. She wore her white hair wavy and had a blue bow in it.
"You're-", Fate started, but was cut off by her own sob. Tears started falling off her cheeks.
"Are you ok?", both the white haired girl and Jaden asked at the same time.
Fate nodded slowely. The girl seemed so nice, she couldn't have ever killed Ashly. But still, the policeman wanted her to call when she found someone that matched her own description.
"Thanks for trying to help", Fate mumbled," but Jaden already promised to help me."
The next few hours were uneventful. Fate had never noticed the stunningly pretty girl before, she didn't even know her name. And since she was quiet during class, the teachers never called on her.
As lunch came around, Jaden and Fate met up with their other friends, Gabriel and Karin. The four went to the cafeteria together, like every normal day.
As they sat down with their food, Fate noticed the girl sitting on a nearly empty table near them. Next to her was a younger girl with black hair and light blue eyes.
The others followed her gaze. "Hey that's the gay kid!", Gabriel yelled as he stood up. Fate knew the smaller girl, the group of friends had been picking on her for being lesbian.
"Come over here cry baby!", Karin joined him. The little girl was a few grades under them, she was only 13 years old.
Fate could see her struggle, the older girl quietly said something, as the younger student stood up. The blackhead shook her head, and the girl with the white hair stood up too.
"Is that your girlfriend?", Jaden asked and laughed as the two came over.
Gabriel grabbed the little girl's arm and pulled her onto his lap as he sat down. A little whine crossed the blackheads lips, as Gabriel hugged her tightly to his chest, she teared up again.
"What, don't you like that?", the boy asked and everyone else on the table joined his laughter. Except the girl with the white hair.
"Leave Sally alone", she said, locking eyes with Gabriel. Her voice was quiet, and a shiver ran down Fate's spine.
Gabriel smiled at her amused. The he leaned down to the little girls ear and quietly said:"Sally it is, why didn't you ever tell me darling?"
The blackhead now was sobbing quietly. She tried to stay strong, but everyone around her could see that she was close to breaking down.
"Leave her alone", the other girl repeated and took a step in Gabriel's direction.
"What, are you seriously her girlfriend?", Karin laughed. The sharp look the white haired girl shot her, made her shut up. Fate couldn't do anything but watch in awe.
"I'll ask you one more time to leave my sister alone", the strange girl said.
Gabriel grinned at her and hugged Sally even tighter. "Sisters?", he asked amused," you don't look anything alike."
The girl grabbed his arm and Fate suddenly saw her doing so with Ashly. That was a few moments before she killed her.
"Let go of my baby sister", she hissed.
Gabriel quickly let go of Sally. Her bigger sister lifted her up so that the smaller girl was clinging to her side. The white haired girl had seemingly no trouble holding her, even if she did so with just one arm.
"What's your name?", Jaden growled. Her eyes were filled with distrust.
"I'm Eli", she said whilst turning around," Eli Waters."
