Second football game of the season was upon us. The entire school body is excited for another win. Everyone's mood was bright and positive. Even Sarah and that's a surprise in itself let me tell you.

I usually hear her usual snarky remarks when I go down the hall. This time she didn't tell me anything. Our lockers are next to each other and still nothing  from here. She's definitely planning a big mess for me. Hopefully it doesn't involve Jace. The last thing I want is for him to be involved.

Speaking of Jace, the team had an early meeting this morning. Which is why I'm alone in the halls. Thinking it was best to stay by my locker till class actually began. When it was time I practically ran to my math class. I tried to text him but never got a reply back. That's new, he always answers me.

It wasn't until the third period when I saw him. He looked irritated walking to his seat. What was in the meeting that made him this mad? Just speaking to him was a task. He ignored me and made sure to keep his distance. I'm starting to think this has nothing to do with the meeting that took place.

Even when class was over he just left without a word. Was it something I did? Well if it is I'm going to find out soon enough. Walking to history I was given smirks from the other students.

Did they know something I didn't? Of course not Jace would've told me if it's important. The possibility of him keeping secrets makes my heart hurt. What if he's cheating and that's the secret? I knew I shouldn't have gotten my heart involved.

The period leading up to lunch and still not a word from him. I've tried to get him to talk but he just won't. Being too stubborn to tell me what's wrong. Does he not want me anymore? Who am I kidding Jace never really wanted me. Tyler asked what was wrong but I brushed it off.

Our whole crew was sitting in the spot. It was an awkward silence since Jace wouldn't speak to me. But he'll talk to the others and I can't take it anymore.

"If you don't want me anymore just say so. Ignoring me won't change that. I can't believe I thought you would want me." I get up and walk away with him calling my name. Now he speaks to me!

"Elena stop, I'm sorry for ignoring you today. It's not because I don't want you, it will never be that." I stopped to let him catch up. We were face to face and I was close to tears.

"Are you cheating on me? Please tell me now so I can leave. It's bad enough to be treated like garbage today."

"What? No! I would never do that to you. Don't ever think I will betray your heart. The reason I've been ignoring you is because of home situations. I don't want to make you stressed that's why. You worry because of kids here and I don't need you worried about me also."

Could it have something to do with his father's behavior? It's kinda obvious that his dad doesn't like me. He cares about his son's football career not his well being. What if Jace is only doing football to please his dad? That would be awful. I'll have to ask him later.

Kissing his cheek I let him know he's forgiven. We go back to our group holding hands. They smiled knowing we had made amends with each other. But Kyle still seemed on edge. I wonder what that could be about. Lunch ended off to my next class.

PE wasn't that terrible. The coach worked with the football players so the rest of us did nothing. I sat on the bleachers and read my book. One thing you need to understand is that I'm oblivious to people around me when I read.

I heard yelling around me but didn't think anything of it. Then I heard Jace yelling as well. As I glance to see what the commontion was about I'm met with a ball. A football to be exact, hit me right in the face. My ears began to ring and my vision blurred. So reading in gym class is bad, noted.
