Once I finished studying with the girls at the library, I caught the bus into town. Georgia was right, I needed a distraction and what better way than to get a new outfit and go out with my best friends. As soon as I got to the shops I headed straight for the discount section. Living on a budget definitely had its limitations. I decided I wasn't in the mood for wearing a dress tonight so instead I settled on buying a nice top and paring it with the black skinny jeans I had at home.I ended up with 6 different tops on my shortlist so I headed to the changing rooms to try them on. The first top I tried on was really conservative with long sleeves a high neckline and it didn't show any of my curves. It wasn't that I was looking to get with anyone from the club, but I wanted to feel good about myself and I definitely couldn't in this. I tried on a few more with no luck when finally I tried on a shiny silver halter neck top. I slipped it on and loved how it looked. It draped down from the straps, not clinging to my body but subtly showing my curves. I was a bit concerned that I didn't have a bra suitable for this top but after examining the top from all angles I decided I didn't care. As long as I felt good in it who cares what other people would think.
I bought the top and got on the bus to go back home, excited to get ready for a night out. It was rush hour and there were no seats on the bus and not much standing room. I squeezed past a few people and grabbed an empty hand rail. Shortly after a large hand grabbed the pole above my head. I looked up and saw a tall, strong looking man with dark hair and brown eyes. He was drop dead gorgeous. I blushed at our proximity due to the lack of space on the bus.
Someone walked past me and knocked there bag into me. I lost my balance slightly and fell into the man next to me. His arm reached out and steadied me. I met his gaze. "Sorry." I said feeling heat fill my cheeks. What was wrong with me? I was acting like a school girl. The corner of his mouth curled upwards slightly revealing the hint of a dimple. "No problem." I thought I detected the hint of an American accent but I wasn't so sure. I bit my lip and looked down trying my best not to embarrass myself further.
For the rest of the bus ride I tried to think of something witty to say, something that would mean I had an actual reason for looking at the handsome man stood next to me. My mind was blank. In that moment, I don't think I had the wit to make a 6 year old laugh let alone a grown man. Before I knew it, it was my stop to get off. I shot a quick smile up at the man as I shuffled off the bus. As I began to walk down the street I looked up and saw him watch me intensely as the bus passed. I bit my lip as the bus disappeared into the distance. I shook my head and scolded myself for acting like a love struck 15 year old who couldn't control their own facial expressions.

Later that evening I began to get ready for the night out. I turned on my favourite songs, took a shower. I mentally prepped myself for the amount of people I was going to be around. I loved spending time with my friends and dancing badly with them but I got anxious about being so closed in with flashing lights and sweaty people. I hopped out of the shower and began to dry my hair. I curled my hair around the hair brush leaving it smooth but with a slight wave at the end. Once it was dry, I pulled the top half of my hair into a pony tail in a half-up, half-down style. After my hair was tamed sufficiently I moved onto my make-up. I added dots of concealer below my eyes and around my nose before moving onto the eye shadow. I added a grey undercoat with a big fluffy brush working the powder into the crease of my eye before using a flat compact brush to push silver sparkles all over my lid. Finally I added a flick of eyeliner and stepped back to examine my work.
I tided up the edges of my makeup brushing away some fallen powder and then added mascara and a nude pink gloss to my lips. Ideally I would have added a big fluffy pair of false eye lashes but I didn't have the skills or the time and patience to learn how.
