Chapter 18- Fitz

I woke up before everyone else, remembering what had happened last night. Was this Alvar's way of making me angry? First Dad, now Biana? They took Dex too! This just keeps getting worse. Thank god I apologised like Sophie had told me to yesterday. Sophie is going to go today. At sunset. I know I've always been a jerk to her, and I blame her, but I still love her. I'll never stop. Even though she's dating Keefe. I slowly got up and walked back to the other room.

"Hello?" Someone whispered from across the room. I realised it was Sophie. 

"It's okay Sophie. Go back to sleep. It's just me, Fitz. I'm just going to get ready. You have a long day. Go to sleep."

"No. I won't be able to sleep now. Plus, it's already 7:00 am." She said.

"Okay. We shouldn't stay here. We might wake the others." As if on cue, Keefe woke up.

"Been awake for the past hour sooo, don't worry about me." He informed. He shot me a glare.Sophie just looked really confused. I rolled my eyes. 

"Okay, well everyone else is still sleeping so we should still go." I said, getting up to go. They followed me and we went into the other room.

"Soooooooo." Keefe dragged out the word awkwardly.

"Okay, well we can't waste time. I know there's only 3 of us awake, but we can still start planning." I said to them. Sophie just looking away, her eyes getting watery. Keefe took her hand and tilted her chin towards him.

"Sophie, listen to me. We are going to figure this out okay? Together." Keefe told her.

"I know but what if it fails, Keefe? I know we've been fighting the Neverseen for a few years, but now it's really hitting me. What if this time, we fail? What if, it's to late and something happens? If I give myself up then no one else gets hurt. I can negotiate and nobody else gets hurt. You guys will be better off without me causing trouble anyways." Sophie starting crying, silent tears. Keefe wrapped her in a hug. I sat on her other side on the bed.

"Sophie, we never fail. We are powerful as a team, stronger together. In fact, I think this battle, we will be even stronger, because we will know that we are doing this all to protect some of the people we care about most. Not that we didn't any other battle, but this time, it's different, and we know it. Let the adrenaline help you and guide you. Channel it into the battle, and we will win, like every other time. Okay?" Keefe finished his pep-talk and Sophie just started sobbing. We both wrapped her in a hug.

"It'll be okay Soph." I said. Ahe looked up at us.

"Thank you, guys. Not just for this but because you two were always there for me." She smiled and hugged us back. 

"Always, Foster. Always." Keefe said. 

Eventually, the others woke up and we all got dressed and ate breakfast. After breakfast, Mr. Forkle called a meeting.

"Okay. The collective stayed up all night trying to figure out a plan, and I think we should......."
