(Your P.O.V)
"Thank you again for doing this, (your name)."
I looked at Anna, smiling happily. She was holding the baby carrier, her son asleep in it. She stepped into the apartment and wheeled in the suitcase behind her. I closed the door quietly and led her over to the sofa. She sat down, sitting the carrier next to her.
"It's no trouble," I replied, sitting down on the floor and opening the suitcase. Inside was a portable crib, and I began to assemble it. "I'm glad I was available for the weekend. Do you know around what time you're picking Kaze up on Sunday?"
"My plane will land around 8 in the evening, so I'll be here probably by 9:30 or so," Anna said, touching her chin in thought.
"There's no rush or anything to pick him up! He'll be fine." I finished assembling the crib and set it in the corner of the living room. I began to unpack the clothes and set them near the diaper changing station I had gotten. It was a cheap thing, but it worked well, as far as I was aware.
"I have to leave now," Anna said, looking at her watch. She smiled and gave me a hug. "Thank you so much again! I'll see you around 9:30ish on Sunday evening."
Anna knelt down and kissed Kaze on the head. He was still sound asleep. She nodded to me and left, closing the door quietly. I went over and sat on the sofa, looking at Kaze's peaceful expression. Almost knowingly, he awoke and saw me. He looked panicked and began to cry.
"Hey, it's okay!" I said, unsnapping the restraints and picking him up. I held him and rocked back and forth, shushing him. He cried for a few minutes before settling back down, looking at me and deciding that he was content with me. "What should we do first?"
I had managed to get him to play with a few toys and even found a TV show for kids. I had it on and watched over Kaze as he played. I was sitting on the floor, watching him play with a maraca. I picked up the other one and shook it with him, making him laugh.
I heard a knock on the door. I picked up Kaze, who was teething on the toy, and went over to the door. I opened it, holding him close. I looked up and saw Lucien's lavender eyes looking at me. My eyes widened.
"Are we being too loud?" I asked as Kaze tugged lightly at my hair. "I'm trying to be quiet so you can work."
Lucien smiled. "You're fine. I heard maracas and a kid's TV show, so I'd thought I'd come and investigate."
I smiled. "This is Kaze, Anna's son. I'm watching him while she's away on a conference for the business."
Kaze looked at Lucien, his brown eyes bright. He had his mouth open, saliva trailing from the toy to his gums. He looked completely shocked at Lucien's sudden appearance. I worriedly looked at Kaze and stepped away from the door, motioning for Lucien to come in.
"I'm so sorry the apartment is a mess," I said, stepping over a few toys.
"Babies aren't exactly the neatest creatures," Lucien laughed, following me with his eyes.
I set Kaze back down on the ground and handed him another toy. He played happily, seemingly forgetting that Lucien was there. I sat on the ground with him, watching over him. Lucien looked towards me, watching me interact with Kaze.
Kaze looked at me and suddenly began to cry. I took him into my arms and walked him around, trying my hardest to quiet him. I grabbed a bottle from the kitchen counter and gave it to him. He settled down almost immediately, grabbing the bottle with his hands and sucking at the nipple obediently.
Lucien watched me. He smiled, his eyes focused. He suddenly imagined me with his kid. He chuckled to himself and shook his head, reigning in his imagination. He stood, coming over to me. "Is there anything I can help with?"
I looked at him nervously. "Ah, not really. I can be quiet if you need to work."
Lucien smiled. "I don't usually work on weekends, silly." He patted my head. "Let me know if there's anything you need me for. You have my number."
I smiled. "Thanks, Lucien."
Lucien turned to walk away. Suddenly Kaze spit out the bottle and began to cry. Lucien turned and looked at me, raising an eyebrow. Kaze was reaching towards Lucien, tears flooding his eyes.
"I think you look like his father," I said, chuckling. I held Kaze close. "From what I remember, Anna said he had dark hair and was fairly tall."
Lucien looked at me. "Had? Did something happen to him?"
I shrugged. "Anna never elaborated. I never asked, either. She always seemed a bit shaken up at the mention of Kaze's father."
Lucien sighed. He came over to me. "Let me hold him."
I looked at him. "Are you sure?"
Lucien smiled and held out his arms. "Have you forgotten that I visit an orphanage regularly?"
I blushed and handed him Kaze. Kaze calmed down slightly and snuggled into Lucien's embrace. Lucien rocked him from side to side, his eyes twinkling in the afternoon sun. I watched, still clutching the bottle.
I went into the kitchen and set down the bottle. I grabbed a glass and filled it with water, taking a large drink before setting it aside for later. I grabbed another glass for Lucien and filled it. When I came back into the living room, Lucien was holding Kaze, talking to him and looking out the window. I stood and watched in silence for a few seconds before clearing my throat.
"Here's some water, Lucien," I said, setting it down on the table in the living room. "Do you want me to take him?"
Lucien smiled. "That would probably wake him up."
"He's asleep?" I peeked at Kaze and found that his eyes were close and his little chest was rising and falling. He indeed was asleep. I chuckled softly. "He's really comfortable around you."
Lucien smiled. "He fell asleep watching the birds in the nest. Look."
I looked outside and saw in the tree next to the window was a bird's nest. Inside there were three baby birds, the mother bird feeding them. I watched as the babies nipped at the beak of the mother as she fed them, saving nothing for herself.
"You must really look like his father," I said, making Lucien turn to me.
"Do I?" Lucien looked at his reflection in the window. "People have told me that I look like my mother."
This was the first time I heard him mention his parents in a long time. He told me that they were overseas. "What does she look like?"
"She has dark hair like me," he said, looking out the window. He smiled and turned to me, his eyes catching mine. "She also has the prettiest purple eyes. They look like gems, specifically amethyst."
I smiled. "I want to meet your parents someday," I said. "They sound like such lovely people."
Lucien smiled, a touch of sadness in his eyes. "Maybe one day, you can meet them."
I touched Lucien's arm, making him turn to me. We both stared at each other, our eyes locking. He blinked, his long eyelashes meeting before coming apart slightly. His skin was flawless, the light reflecting off of him and casting a shadow where his cheekbones were. He looked like a model.
"Lucien," I whispered. He drew closer. "I—"
Suddenly Kaze began to cry. We both jumped, looking at the baby. I smiled and took him from Lucien, holding him against me. I took Kaze to the changing station. I changed his diaper and he calmed down, much happier than before.
I washed my hands and Lucien sat on the ground, Kaze sitting close by. Lucien was holding a small picture book as Kaze flipped the cardboard pages, cooing at the many colors he saw. I dried my hands and suddenly felt sadness wash over me. There were so many colorful things in the room, yet Lucien couldn't see any of them due to being colorblind. I sighed, catching Lucien's attention.
"What's wrong?" he asked. "You look sad."
"I'm sad for you," I said, causing Lucien to react.
"What about?"
"The colors." I pointed to the book. "There's so many colors everywhere, but you can't see them. It almost feels like a punishment."
Lucien stood, giving the book to Kaze. He played contently as Lucien came over to me, touching my face gently. He smiled. "I may not be able to see ordinary colors," he whispered, leaning close. "But you're the one who gave me the ability to see a colorful world. You radiate all the colors imaginable."
I blushed. "Lucien..."
He gently kissed me. My eyelids fluttered closed, and I melted into his kiss. He pulled away after a few seconds, smiling at me. I smiled back shyly. He took my hand and led me over to Kaze. He sat us down and picked up the book.
"Okay," he said, opening the book and pointing to a grape. "Tell me what color that is, Kaze."

Okay, I said the next one would be about Kiro...
I'm still struggling to come up with anything. Kiro is a hard cookie to try and write about. I have an idea planned, but everything I write seems off. If anyone has any plots or suggestions, let them be known!
See you in the next one!
