She had to say, she did not like school. At all. Sitting at a desk all day while someone else talks about teaching you something they can show you and you can try it yourself instead? Boring. And assigned seating? The worst. She was stuck next to this quiet kid who seemed way too serious and like he had a stick up his butt. Or maybe up his hair, it looked like a ducks butt anyways. And when she tried to introduce herself???? He SCOFFED at her! The nerve of the boy.

So she ignored him, like a sensible kid. Naruto, is not a sensible kid in the least. He already had a rivalry with the boy and it only fired him up to see his precious first friend snubbed by the teme. Ilya shrugged it off, and tried to make Naruto do the same but it never really worked.

One afternoon, while Kiba and Naruto and a few others ended up ditching class a bunch of girls came up to the seat beside Ilya's and she grew steadily annoyed at all the fawning and high pitched noises the girls made. After about 10 straight minutes of it, after classes too, Ilya had had enough. She slammed her hands on the desk as she stood, the table getting minuscule cracks along it which none of the girls noticed. They stared at her, called her crazy, and Ilya glared at them, leaned on one hand against the table and put the other on the hip she jut out to appear as sassy and demanding as possible then turned her chin up and looked down her nose at them.

"Wh-what?" One of the girls near the front managed to stutter out and Ilya leaned toward her.

"You're in the way," she said, her voice a cooled monotone, as she grabbed up a lock of the girls hair from over the ravenette, "and you're not only annoying me, but this boy that you all claim to love." She looked up into the eyes of the cowering fangirl, "get lost." The girl nodded numbly and turned and left, the rest frozen. "Well?" Ilya asked, and the rest scattered. She huffed and turned to grab her bag and said a farewell to the boy she left behind

Shikamaru called out to her on her way out of school one day, offering a meal as a few others followed behind him. Ilya shrugged and agreed, food never hurt anybody.

They, meaning everyone except Ilya, decided on Yakiniku Q, a bustling place that offered some good barbecue. Ilya was practically transfixed with the meat when it came out and when Choji saw he challenged her to an eating duel. She accepted. Everyone around the table cheered them on as they stuffed their faces full of meat and Shikamaru merely facepalmed.

Choji won but only barely, Ilya vowed she'd win next time before she passed out from a meat coma.

"Hey I think I know her!" The boy who accompanied her said and before she could say anything the boy was gone and chasing after the girl he saw through the crowds. She gave a sigh and walked off to an emptier street to wait for him. He came back a few minutes later, pushing a navy haired cute girl in front of him.

"Ilya, this is Hyuga Hinata!" He introduced, throwing an arm over the poor girls shoulders. Ilya smiled at her then scowled at the boy.

"Kiba, you can't just kidnap an heiress off the streets, much less drag her here to such a quiet place," she scolded and Kiba raised his arms in a placating manner.

"Well you're the one who came into such a quiet place to wait for me in the first place," he said and she opened her mouth to say something but stuck her tongue out at him instead. His counterpoint was just too good.

Instead she turned back to the heiress who stood there with a blush on her face and a very cute confused frown. Ilya offered her arm and pointedly turned away from the Inuzuka, "come on Hinata, we don't need this right now," she huffed jokingly.
