Comforting Beast

It started with a careless fall:

The one thing that caused it all

A glimpse was what I expected to see,

But now I've fallen deep in the ravine

My arms have gone weary,

Trying to escape the shackles he used to trap me

Then I heard his roar.

The first time I stare at the beast's eyes,

I'm compelled to stay trapped inside

I remain trapped in his spell,

That fact alone makes me overwhelmed

'Cause beneath my love-struck shell,

I scream and cry for help

I think of every escape plan I could,

But there's that one voice who asks if I should

Tell Me,

Where is my place?

In this wide, independent world,

Or in his comforting embrace?
