The date was 25th December, possibly one of Jimin's favourite days of the year. It was full of happy days with joy and love, of giving and receiving. There was nothing better than seeing the reaction of someone you gifted a present to after they opened it up. It made Jimin feel warm and fuzzy. As much as he loved it, it was also a shame that he could never join Hoseok on Christmas or have Hoseok join him. They always saw each other the day before but after their small Christmas gift exchange, Hoseok flew back to his home town to spend it with his family. It was a nice thing to do and Jimin understood it. He just wished he could spend at least one Christmas with his best friend.

"Okay, Taebear, last present of the day now" announced Jimin with a little giddy smile. Jimin's stomach was twisting with nerves, his heart beating loudly in his ear, as he watched Taehyung and tried his absolute hardest to appear calm and collected. It was probing to be a difficult task, however.

Taehyung felt suspicious of what Jimin had gifted him, as he could read the boy well; he had learned and picked up on Jimin's body language over the past months, and knew him all too well for Jimin to get away with pretending not to be nervous. "I see, I see.." mumbled Taehyung as he reached out for the one and only present under the tree now. It was a small box in the shape of a ring box, which only made Taehyung feel nervous himself.

Carefully, he unwrapped the thin wrapping paper and took the box out of it, smiling down at it with the wrapping paper now discarded and unimportant. Glancing up at Jimin, he saw the boy was now a blushing mess as well as nervous. The man was crouched down beside him, cheeks red and hands fidgety in his lap.

Taehyung took care when he opened the box up, lifting the lid to reveal a pair of promise rings. One had Jimin's name on it, one had Taehyung's. In the very top of the ring for Jimin, was a small little white gem held on by metal wrapped around it and welded to the ring. Both rings were in silver. Taehyung's ring too had a gem, except it was a pink one. Both their names were written in the cursive font. The pair of them were so so pretty.

"They're- they're promise rings.. I have the one with your name and you have the one with mine.." Jimin shyly mumbled, before shuffling closer and taking out the one with his name. His hands could barely hold the ring, as he was so shaky and clammy. After struggling to put the ring on Taehyung's finger, Taehyung ended up chuckling and assisting him. "Is there a question you need to ask me now?" asked Taehyung with a slightly raised brow.

Jimin was more than just flustered at that point, his cheeks red, hands clammy and toes curling with nerves. What would Taehyung say? What if it all went wrong? What if Taehyung didn't really like him? How would he react? Jimin had questions, lots and lots of unanswered questions.

"I- uh, yeah, I do.." Jimin answered, looking up at Taehyung from where his eyes preciously stared at the floor. Just do it. Just get on with it. "Would you.. Would you.." Jimin could hardly find his words, as he stared at the chuckling Taehyung in the eyes nervously.

Swiftly, Taehyung leant forward and cupped one of Jimin's cheeks, holding him near as their faces were only inches apart. Jimin's heart was racing, eyes wide as he stared down at Taehyung's lips only a few inches away from his own. "Of course I will, silly" Taehyung whispered, having known what Jimin was trying to ask him. And so with his hand still placed on his cheek, he leaned in and connected their lips in a sweet and gentle kiss.

And that was how Vmin became Vmin.
