Arabelle's POV

"Come on Dimitri. You can't be late for your first day." Upon entering his room I heard dad telling him to punch anybody that messes with him.

"Dad stop it with the violence." I placed Dimitri's backpack on his back and carried him downstairs to collect his lunch.

I hurried to the car and buckled up. "Mom stop rushing." My three year old son said to me.

"Sorry baby I just don't want you to be late." I look through the rearview mirror to see him. "Are you excited to start your new school?"

"No. I won't be able to stay home with you and grandpa." He pouted and it touched my heart.

"Oh baby. Don't be sad. We'll be there when you get home in the evenings." He smiled.

"Promise." He held up his pinky finger. I linked mine with his. "I promise."

I stopped at the gate and went around to his side. "Have a good day. I love you." We hugged. "I love you too mom."  He walked in with the other students.

"They grow up so fast."

On my way home I received a call from dad reminding me to get a dress for the masked ball tonight. I'm glad he did because I didn't remember. The whole purpose of the ball is for the different mafias around the world get together without any violence. To me it's like making people who don't like each have bonding time

I never expected to be a mafia leader. Four years ago when I had Dimitri I knew I had to live for him. I had dad train me as soon as I recovered from the pregnancy. I balanced all that and school. Although dad handed over the mafia he still helped me here and there. Alot of times I felt like giving up but dad always gave me reasons to keep pushing.

I walked in the chanel store and all eyes were on me. I then realized how I was dressed. T-shirt and joggers. Ignoring the eyes I headed over to the ball dresses and none caught my eyes.

"I can help you look for a dress if you want." A soft voice said behind me. She was a shy italian girl it seemed.

"Sure. Thank you. I'm looking for a ball dress , heels and a mask." She looked at me then smiled.

"I have the perfect suit for you." She rushed off to the back of the store which I guess is the storage and returned a little while later.

"Here try these." In her hands was a silver and blue dress and matching mask with a box.

The suit was perfect. I couldn't believe my eyes. The assistant told me I should get it and I definitely agreed.

I thanked her and left her with a tip for the help. The cashier looked at me with disgust but I didn't pay much attention.

"The total is €2700." She said with a smirk. "You shouldn't come in a expensive store when you're poor.

"Oh is that so. Then I wonder why you are in here. I must say you have a strong face if it can carry all that makeup." She gasped.

"You bitch." I took out my gun. Fear was evident on her face.

"Wanna say that again?" She kept silent. "Thought so." She took my card and was surprised when she saw the name. My things were placed in a bag and I left.

"Hey dad." He sat around his desk in his office with a cigar in his mouth reading the paper.

"Hey honey. How was today?"

"It was OK. Other than the fact that I am away from Dimitri this long."

"It's OK. He'll be home soon." He smiled. "Oh and I got you a date for tonight." He scratched the back of his head.

"You what?!" I shouted in disbelief.

"Calm down it's just for the night. You do need a date. He's Matteo's son. Someone I know and trust don't worry you'll be fine."

"Fine. Only because it's for the night."

"Good. You'll need to settle down sooner or later. I'll be needing more grandchildren to spoil." My face must be red by his comment.

"Dad stop it." He grinned. I quickly left the office and went to my room for a nap.
----------------------------------------------------------------

"Mom!" Dimitri shouted and jumped on my bed. "Today was so fun. I made a new friend. His name is  Angelo. " I listened to all what he had to say about his day. When he was very excited he changed languages. I was lucky to find a school that teaches both languages. He fell asleep in my arms after. I carried him to his room and left a maid to watch him.

It was time to get ready anyways. I showered and started getting dressed. I never did my makeup heavy seeing as I didn't even need to wear any. I was beautiful with or without. I didn't do much to my hair. Damn. I looked great.

I made sure to strap my gun and knives to my legs for extra protection.

I went downstairs and saw an unfamiliar person. He turned around and I assumed he was Matteo's son. He had tattoos all over and his muscles bulged from the blue suit he was wearing. Jesus he was sexy.

"Hi. You must be Arabelle. I'm Niko. I must say you look ravishing." He took my hands and kissed it.

"Thank y you." I stuttered. His hair was gelled back to perfection. It looked so soft and damn he smelled good. We went outside to the limo waiting for us.
