[third person]
The two teenagers sat at the kitchen table in their new home. "Let's set some rules," Jihyeon suggested. Jisung nodded his head, opening his backpack and drawing out a piece of paper and a pen.
He passed it to the girl who was sat in front of him. She wrote 'House Rules,' at the top of the paper in the neatest writing possible and began writing down numbers in the column. "Ok, firstly, respect personal privacy," she said, writing it down and turning the paper around for the boy to write.
Jisung thought for a while before speaking in a deep voice, "Not more than 5 personal items in shared places," he declared.
"But what about the bathroom?" "Isn't five enough? Shampoo and conditioner, body wash, a toothbrush and your sanitary stuff?" "What about facial items?" "You have a vanity in your room. I have one in mine," he shrugged. She sighed and nodded, taking the paper from him.
"Inform the other before having guests," she spoke as she wrote it down as well. He nodded and turned the paper around. "Alternate chores," he wrote handing it back to her.
"What else do we need?" She asked, looking at him. "I think that's enough for now," he read through the list. The two nodded and put the list up on the fridge.
As Jihyeon opened the fridge she held an expression that said '...' on her face. "Uh, should we get some food?" She asked, turning around to look at the boy who was on his phone.
"Oh yeah, sure, how about we get settled in first?" He asked her. She agreed and the two went to their rooms and began organising them.
_
An hour or so later, the two teenagers emerged from their rooms, tired. Jihyeon plopped on the sofa as Jisung awkwardly perched himself on the other side. "I won't bite you, Jack," "Jack?" "Like Jack and the Beanstalk," she explained her nickname.
He nodded, flaring his nostrils as he laughed softly.
"Should we go to the grocery store?" He asked, looking towards her. "I'm so tired," she said, but nonetheless agreed since both of them needed to eat.
They got up, leaving the apartment, thankfully remembering to take the key, and heading to the grocery store.
Jisung and Jihyeon simply looked like a teenage couple, so they didn't stick out like a sore thumb as they had hoped not to. They walked through the aisles, picking up the items they needed, facing some dilemmas but being able to solve them ultimately.
"Ok, we need cereal," she said, picking up the chocolate ones she saw ok the shelf. "Nope, not at all," he said taking it from her hand and picking up the Froot Loops. Jihyeon wasn't an avid chocolate loops consumer and wouldn't usually mind whether she ate the fruit ones or the chocolate ones, but Jisung taking it from her hand aggravated her.
To spite him, she picked it back up and put it in the trolley. "Are you a monster? Chocolate Loops?" He asked, a mortified look on his face.
"Why're you looking at me like that, they're cheaper anyways," the shorter girl said. "I'm willing to spend 50 cents extra for my happiness," he rolled his eyes at her, checking the back of the box.
"Fine, I get to chose the next item, then."
"Fair enough," he nodded.
_As soon as they reached back, they began piling their newly bought items into the cabinets and fridge. "Jisung, bread goes in the fridge," she said, watching him put it in the cabinet. "No, it goes her," he insisted. "Do you what mouldy bread? Then put it in the fridge," she said, taking it from his grip and putting it in the fridge.
The boy sighed and continued putting away the rest of the items while she helped him. "How did we end up here," she wondered out loud. "I have no clue, wifey," he joked. The young girl stood beside him laughed, flicking the hair out of her face.
Jisung just stood there, entangled in her charming looks. To think of it, to him it felt as if he'd known her for much longer than a mere week.
Had he?
Jisung shook of the thought and the two finished tidying up and went to their respective rooms.
_Perplexed, the young boy tossed around in his bed, wondering why he had these sudden memories of a girl named Jihyeon.
His childhood not being the best was a reason he never recalled any moments, incidents or people from it, but he had sudden recollections of another family being close to his.
"What is happening?" He groaned, tossing and turning in his new bed.
"Why all of a sudden?"
A few moments later, he sat up on the bed, sweating. "Is it really hot, or am I crazy?" He wondered, feeling small beads of sweat drip down his forehead.
Getting out of his room to go check the temperature of the Air Conditioner, he realised that Jihyeon had turned it up way too high.
"Why is the AC on 30???" He asked loudly, his voice full of confusion. "It's cold," Jihyeon said from the kitchen table, startling the boy.
"Wow, never seen a pole vibrate," she raised her eyebrows, looking back at her phone.
Jisung blinked, utterly confused at what she meant, but he let it be. "What time is it?" He asked. "It's half past 2."
"Wow, why are we up?" "I don't know about you, but I couldn't sleep. I slept in the afternoon," she shrugged.
He nodded, not knowing what else to say. "Wanna watch a movie?" She asked him. "Oh, uh sure," he nodded again. "I'm really not gonna bite you, calm down," she laughed.
He awkwardly laughed and turned on the TV. "Netflix?" She asked. "and Chill," "Do you know what that means?" "Yeah, watch Netflix and Relax," he awnsered back confidently.
"Oh Jisung. Never say that again," she said, patting the seemingly much younger boy's shoulder.
"Why not? My brother and his girlfriend used to say that and then went to sleep right afterwards," he tilted his head, reminding Jihyeon of a little puppy.
"Why are you so innocent? They obviously.. did the boom boom," she censored herself.
The boys eyes widened before he squinted them back down, "I'm going to vomit. ITS IN MY HEAD," he screeched, grabbing his head.
"This is gonna be a long ass ride," she deadpanned, staring straight at the television.
