My eyes couldn't help but gaze upon that beautiful girl, Ruth. Her name sounded fierce, yet her appearance seemed angelic and kind. She was absolutely perfect. Even her attitude, and sense of humor was cute.
"Alec, will you hold this for me?" she handed me a small journal, that she had kept in her pocket. I was really curious to what was inside, but I respected her privacy. I held it close, and watched as she peered inside the still cave.
"Scream if you need me!" I joked as I waited by the entrance. I thought of a funny idea, just to see if she was scared easily. I shoved the notebook into my pocket, and waited in place.
"I'll just wait here!" a small smirk appeared on my face as I tip toed quietly behind her. Before I got to grab her shoulders, she turned around.
"What are you doing? Do you think you can scare me that easily? Please. Don't make me laugh," I could see the small grin as she turned back around. Yes, as a matter of fact. I liked how she tried to act tough on the outside, yet soft in the inside. It was weird how I could see right through her. I could tell that she was special.
"Alec?" I snapped out of deep thought once I heard her say my name.
"Yes?"
"Your going to be left behind if you don't walk by me," I immediately understood what she meant by that. She was afraid.
I gently grabbed her wrist, "Don't worry, I'm right here," she attempted to snatch her hand away from me, but I gripped tightly. Her hands became sweatier.
"What are you doing?" her cheeks were rosy, "I meant-"
I pulled her towards me, hugging her, "You don't have to keep up the tough act. Nobodies here but me," I brushed her hair down with my fingers, "I'll protect you, don't worry,"
"If It's okay, can we stay like this for a while?" her voice cracked, echoing throughout the cave. We hugged each other in silence. The lamps flickered, and the light reflected off of the crystals implanted in the wall. It was the perfect moment to kiss her, but I suddenly remembered something more important. I really didn't want to ruin the moment.
I pulled away from her slowly, staring into her ocean blue eyes, "We need to keep on moving. Who knows what kind of creatures live down here," I placed my finger under her chin, "If it will help, you can hold my hand," she accepted it and began to go down steps leading to a barred door. It seemed as if we were heading to a cell.
She pulled her hand away from me, scooting towards a corner, "I'm fine now. Don't worry about it. We should focus on what's behind this door. And possibly be prepared for it," my words excactly. Before I opened the door, I checked to see if she was ready. There was excitment and anxiousness in her eyes. I took a deep breath, and peered outside.
Hey Guyz. I love writing this story. I want to dedicate this chapter to my best friend Te'Ana. She is the pickiest person I've ever met but I still love her like a sister. My apologies for the grammer mistakes. Ive always hated grammer. But, you gotta learn it anyway right? If you would like, it would be nice if you could create an evil character for me. It would be a life savor!!!!! Thx.
