7 - Unhappy Reunions

Dabi's P.O.V

After lunch we had quirk training with All Might. This is one of the few times when we can take off the quirk cancelling bracelets, so it goes without saying that Toga and I were excited. We stand in Ground Beta while All Might explains what we're doing. He wants us to play some stupid Hero vs Villains game. The teams were selected by a random name generator.

The Hero teams were:
Uraraka Ochako
Yaoyurozou Momo
Kaminari Denki
Tokoyami Fumikage
Kirishima Eijirou
Aoyama Yuga
Tsuyu Asui
Mashirao Ojirou
Koda Koji
Shoji Mezo
Dabi

And the Villain teams were:
Bakugo Katsuki
Midoriya Izuku
Ashido Mina
Jirou Kyoka
Mineta Minoru
Hagakure Toru
Iida Tenya
Sero Hanta
Todoroki Shoto
Sato Rikido
Himiko Toga

I smirk at being chosen for the Hero team. I was almost certain I'd be chosen as a villain. Whelp... Can't argue with the random name generator.

"You will be split up into pairs later. First I have to announce that this lesson will be observed by some pro heroes." I didn't really care so I just started drinking from my water bottle as All Might continued "These Heroes will be Hawks, Ingenium, Sir Nighteye and Endeavour." The second that name left his lips, I started coughing, spitting out the rest of my water. All Might is still unaware of my true identity so my reaction shocked him.

He continued nonetheless. "The first two pairs to participate for the heroes are Ojirou and Dabi. The villains will be Todoroki and Ashido. Please make your way to the building, villains get a two minute head start." Shoto and Ashido went inside the building while Ojirou and I stand outside. I am so on edge right now, not only am I fighting against my baby brother but my abusive ass of a father will also be watching. I hope he doesn't recognise my quirk.

I sighed deeply as Ojirou and I thought up of a plan. I would deal with Shoto and Ojirou will deal with Ashido and find the bomb. "Times up. Heroes, you may enter." All Might called from the observation room. Very quietly, we entered the building and immediately got attacked by ice coming right at us. I pulled Ojirou behind me and used my quirk to melt and evaporate the ice. As the ice turned to steam, it made a thick stream cloud, making it very difficult to see. Ojirou took this opportunity and ran upstairs to find the weapon or the other villain.

Shoto wafted the cloud away and looked directly at me. He knew father was watching so he couldn't call me by my name, I nodded and smirked. "Let's dance Pretty Boy." I ran at him with my fists in flames. He tried to freeze me again but I just melted it, I frowned. He refuses to use, his fire and I have a good idea as to why. I grit my teeth and glare at him, this caught him off guard. He was confused. "IT'S YOURS. IT'S YOUR QUIRK, NOT HIS!!!" His eyes widened. Not even a second later, the entire left side of his body was engulfed in flames.

"It's your quirk, don't let anyone tell you otherwise." I ran to him. I'm too close for us to use our fire without causing serious burns so we engage in a good ol' fist fight. I had to admit, it was kinda fun and by the look on Shoto's face, he was enjoying it too.

Endeavour's P.O.V

I watch closely as Shoto engages in battle with this new student. I him, who is he? He looks familiar. They had just walked through the for when Shoto shot ice at their direction. My eyes widened as blue flames enveloped the ice, evaporating it almost instantly. Blue flames? Even more familiar. I look closely at the boy and notice dark scar tissue on his arms, chest and face. My eyes widened further. I-It couldn't be? Could it? I turn to All Might.

"Who is this boy? I've never seen him before." I demanded an explanation. All Might turned from the screen to look at me. "His name's Dabi. He's 19 and part of the villain rehabilitation programme." He explained before turning back. Villain? No, it can't be him. He seems the right age though. I carried on watching the fight, I heard him yell at Shoto causing him to burst into flames. Usually I'd be happy that Shoto is using his left side, however I recognised that voice and all the pieces seemed to for together. This boy is Toya.

I got a very sick feeling in finding out that my oldest son became a villain. I glare at him on the screen, if this got out then it would ruin my reputation. He managed to restrain Shoto and a few seconds later All Might announced that the Heroes had won. I look to a different screen to see the girl retrained and the boy with a tail moving the bomb.

They untied the villains and came out of the building with smiles on all of their faces. I'll wipe those smiles off within seconds. Without realising it, my flames became hotter, making the room heat up, drawing all attention to me. I stepped out of the building and walked over to the two disappointments that I call my sons. I glared down at them and Shoto stepped back and stood behind Toya.

Toya put his burnt arm around Shoto protectively and glared up at me. He looked my dead in the eyes, I saw his pain, his sadness and his hatred. He's weak. "Toya." I spoke. "Endeavour." He replied. I grit my teeth, not only did he say my hero name with such disgust but he also refuses to call me father. My glare heated but he didn't seem phased by it at all. "That's father to you." He wrongly corrected me and he calmly shook his head.

"No, it's not. You have never been a father to me. A father is someone who loves and protects you. Someone who accepts you for who you are and supports you no matter what you want to do. Not force them to do your bidding and just get a new one if it doesn't work out. Not abuse his wife, who he literally paid her family to marry her off to him in a quirk marriage, to the point where she has a mental lapse and then put her in a mental hospital saying you don't know what caused the fucking lapse." His voice became more angered.

"A father doesn't beat the shit out of their kid who's no older than 4 and sure as hell do not continue to force people to use their quirks for whatever reason. My reason being it hurts me! You're aware of this! All of these burns were caused by my fucking quirk! If I use my quirk too much, then it can literally kill me. So no. You are not a father. You are nothing more than just a sperm doner." He yelled.

My eyes widened. I was not expecting that. After he finished his rant, he stood there panting. I stood there in shock, I didn't know how to respond. My eyes remain wide and mouth was wide open in shock.

"C'mon Sho." He took Shoto's hand in his and walked away. Shoto looked just as stunned as I but said nothing as he followed his brother. My anger grew and I was about to shoot fire at them when I noticed that my quirk isn't working. I look to the side to see Eraserhead and the other heroes and teachers glaring at me. My eyes widened, they heard and saw all of that. I was put in quirk cancelling cuffs and put into a containment cell with a scowl on my face.

Dabi's P.O.V

I sat in the observation room with the others with Shoto sitting on my lap. Toga and Deku were sitting on either side of me as they all comforted me. I resisted the urge to cry but it was too strong and I burried my face in Deku's neck, he hugged me close as he soothingly rubbed my back. Deku gives the best hugs. So does his mom, I can see where he gets it from. I calmed down after a few minutes. With cuddles.

All Might continued with the rest of the lesson until everyone had gone and we went back to the classroom with Aizawa. At the end of the day before I went back to the dorm, Aizawa gave me a large black bag that was filled with boxes of hair dye. I thanked him and went back to my dorm where Deku and Toga helped dye my hair and I put the other boxes in my closet until next time.
