KAYLA- 16. Getting to know you more

( Gon's POV )

I went back to the car and found Kayla checking something behind me.

" So? Where's your friend? He didn't come? " Kayla asks.

" No. He didn't. He said he'll stay there. "

" Wow. " Kayla uttered softly letting out a soft grin.

" So let's go? " I said.

" Drive. I'm starving already. " Kayla chirped and rubbed her stomach playfully.

I let out a snicker at Kayla and we drove the car to the steakhouse.

We entered and the same happened. The people gasped when they saw Kayla.

Kayla slightly hides behind me and a waiter greets us and lead us to a nice table.

"Uhmm. Ma'am sir. Excuse me. Here are the menu's. "

The waiter gave me a menu as well as Kayla.

Kayla seemed to be very focused in ordering. I just gaped at her, wondering how could someone look like an angel.

" Gon! " Kayla called me.

" Yes? "

" Have you tried this Montreal peppered steak? "

" What? "

I looked at the menu and almost choked by the price.

" $1, 000!!? "

" What's wrong? " Asks Kayla.

" Hu-uh That is expensive! "

" Expensive? " Kayla looked at me confused.

" It's not? "

" What're you talking about? It's steak Gon. That's pretty fair for a steak. "

" Yes. It's steak. What is this Gold?! " I think I might've made my voice a little loud I attracted bit of attention from people near us.

I cleared my throat.

" Why are you so shocked? Don't tell me. You haven't eaten this steak yet?? I tell you, you should definitely try this! It's delicious! " Kayla said in an excited manner.

I looked at the menu in shock again.

" Well. Uhh. I only tried their sweet and sour steak here but. S-s-suree. " I said.

I'm worried that Dad will be mad at me. Will he? But he said I should not worry.

It seems that the prices doesn't bug Kayla at all.

The sweet and sour steak was surprisingly $600! That's expensive enough for me and that's one of the cheap foods here.

But Kayla looked very happy and calm.

I mean I expected this restaurant to be pricey but it still shocks the hell out of me.

She looks at me and grins.

" Gon? So how about we try something sweet? They don't just serve steaks here. "

" Uhh yeah that's a great idea. "

Kayla's eyes are full of life looking through the menu.

" I'll get this Black forest cake. " Kayla shows me the menu smiling and I smiled at what she showed me.

" Yeah! That looks delicious. " I replied. I looked at the price and it retails for $300.

I gulped by the price.
