NUMBER ONE:
—
Yashiro decided that his voice was one of the things she secretly liked hearing. And although it's rather. . .girly for a boy, Hanako's voice is comforting and no one, and nothing can change her mind about that.
When she wrote it down on a piece of paper (a random blank paper she tore from a page from her diary), though, she was a bit stumped.
She never realized just how much she liked (or, likes; present tense) his voice. It was unique — it fitted Hanako so much she can't even begin to explain and break it down for other people to understand.
It wasn't that Hanako's voice was odd. It was because it resembled his personality: childish and mischievous. Everytime — at least, when matters aren't so serious — he would always have a certain lilt in his tone whenever he speaks. Like he always finds everything amusing. Probably not surprising for someone who's easily entertained.
Yashiro thought she would've liked those husky, deep voices (for example: Teru), but then she realized that she was so much fonder of Hanako's; it made her feel at ease, because it reminds her that Hanako is also a young boy. A young person like her. There was no reason for her to feel nervous or scared.
Maybe she would feel nervous if Hanako teased her. That was one of the things that confused Yashiro and made a mess of her feelings. The way he would slyly say: "Yashiro—" tone lower than usual with a smirk was one of the things that can make Yashiro explode into a bright red mess of a blush. It was easy to push Yashiro buttons, which was why Hanako took advantage of it.
But she still liked it.
It sent shivers down her spine when he would whisper close to her ear, or giggle softly when he would see her flustered reaction.
She isn't going to be turning this into a novel-length essay about his voice (maybe she would in her diary), but there was just so much to say. From the way her toes would curl when he'd mutter something and his mouth is beside her ears, to his chuckles that makes her knees week and melt her into a puddle. It's mellifluous for her. She loves Hanako's voice.
Tsukasa is Hanako's younger twin (emphasis on younger). Yashiro didn't find his voice attractive, though, even though it's basically the same thing — except, Tsukasa's is a notch higher. If Hanako is childish, then Tsukasa is a toddler (or a baby). Maybe it was because she's closer to Hanako, or maybe it was because she knew who Tsukasa really is, but she preferred Hanako's voice way more.
So the first in the list of the things she loves about Hanako: is his voice, because it's pleasing to hear.
It didn't take long before Yashiro started listing down other qualities Hanako had and she adored.

"Yashiro!" Hanako drawled out, voice echoing in the empty hallways. Yashiro shut her eyes and paused in her steps, allowing Hanako to catch up. "Yashiro! I was looking everywhere for you!" He cried, gently wrapping his arms around her neck.
Yashiro nervously laughed. "I'm sorry, Hanako-kun. I needed to do something for, uh, a project," she stammered weakly. That was horrible, Yashiro.
Hanako peeked from her shoulders and pointed at the crumpled paper she was clutching on her chest tightly. "Is it that one?" He asked innocently, his breath tickling Yashiro's ear, making the poor girl blush and pry him away. "Aw, Yashiro." Hanako pouted. "I can help you with that!"
Help you boost your ego and potentially ruin our friendship? Yashiro thought. Yeah. No thanks. "It's fine, Hanako-kun. I'm fine with working on this alone," she lamely reassured him. "This isn't something that I should share so randomly, anyway."
Hanako quirked a brow. Yashiro gulped. "Oh, okay," Hanako said. She expected that he would've sulked and whine about how terrible Yashiro is as an assistant, but she was surprised to see him smile. A genuine smile that doesn't have intention. "If you need any help, I'm here, okay?"
Yashiro nodded, a bit breathless. "Ah, yeah. Thank you, Hanako-kun."
