Zoe and Eve are still in the beginnings of their relationship, and not always sure how to act. Still, they have a fun day at Zoe's beach house.

Filled with fluff!

___

Eve glanced out the window, and marveled at the perfect blue skies. There was not even a wisp of a cloud in sight, and the sun was at its highest point in the sky. Here, at Zoe's family's beach house, the doors to the backyard were all glass. The wind whipped around, nearly lifting the empty hammock from its stand. Eve watched Zoe, outside, with her dark, shimmering hair, gleaming in the sun and flying around her in the breeze. Eve couldn't help but smile at this perfect sight. She almost didn't want to touch it, didn't want to disturb it. Yet, her desire to be a part of it outweighed that.

Eve placed a hand on the door, the handle clicking softly as it swung open. Immediately, Eve felt a gust of wind blow her hair back and away from her face, making her feel like she was flying. She imagined this was what Zoe felt like when she ran, exhilarated from the wind.

Eve stepped down, dropping her bare feet to the deck. Eve was silent as she walked up to Zoe, and she felt a jolt of surprise run through Zoe. Eve felt Zoe relax as she pressed herself up to Zoe's back and wrapped her arms gently around Zoe's waist. Eve put her head in the crook of Zoe's bare neck, taking advantage of Zoe's wide necked top. Zoe suddenly stiffened, and turned out of Eve's grasp. Eve jumped back, worried. Zoe looked down.

"Sorry," she said. "I'm not used to... you touching me."

Eve nodded apologetically. They were 17, but had only just started dating. Well, that's what it felt like to them. Neither of them had been through this before, and didn't know how it worked, or how to act, or where they should be right now. But they had driven here to spend the day. Alone. Eve looked at Zoe.

"Don't be sorry, I'm not used to it either," Eve said sweetly, trying to show she understood. "But... I want to get used to it."

At this, Zoe smiled.

"Thanks," she said. Then Zoe pulled Eve in for a quick hug. Eve smiled back at her.

"Want to try the hammock?" Zoe asked. Eve lit up, glad to be over the awkward moment. She wanted to smooth down Zoe's chocolate hair... it was whipping all around Zoe's face, crazy. That, and she wanted its softness in her fingers. Eve snapped back to Zoe's question, realizing she hadn't yet said anything.

"Yes!" Eve said. Zoe showed her the striped hanging hammock, sitting directly in the sun. Zoe lifted one side, allowing Eve to sit down on the other and swing her legs up and into it. She let the rest of her lie back, the hammock taut and carrying her. Zoe looked at her, happy. Still, she seemed as if...

"Do you want to... come in?" Eve asked hesitantly. Zoe brightened.

"Would that be okay? It just looks so nice," Zoe trailed off.

"Sure," said Eve sweetly. Zoe placed one knee in the hammock, and unbalanced by the weight the hammock moved in response and Zoe toppled into the fabric. Eve squeaked in surprise. Zoe suddenly started laughing, then apologized.

"Sorry," Zoe said, still giggling. Her leg had fallen on top of Eve's, the other one slightly to the side. Her hip had collided with Eve's stomach, causing Eve to wince slightly in pain.

"It's... ok," Eve said, her voice strained.

"It's better," Zoe adjusted herself as she spoke. "if you turn on your side like this."

"Okay," Eve said, turning to face Zoe.

Eve ended up with her body close to Zoe's, their limbs tangled. Zoe moved her arm to rest it around Eve, and Eve felt Zoe's near bare legs, as she was wearing shorts, tangled somewhere with her own. Eve felt toes tickling her own feet, and she smiled.. The hammock pulled their bodies closer together, not allowing for any space between them. And yet Eve wanted to be closer to Zoe, to melt into her embrace. Her heart pounded, and she blushed. Despite her shyness, she couldn't imagine how this day could get any better, any more perfect. Eve's body was tense, and she couldn't remember how to breathe, or where she was supposed to put her arm, or her head... and was her hair in the way?

"I thought you said you weren't used to... this kind of thing," Eve said slowly, trying to make her voice sound normal. Eve felt Zoe's next words close to her cheek, as if the soft words kissed her.

"I said I wasn't used to it..." Zoe mumbled. "Not that I didn't want to be."

Eve accepted this, realizing, everything she wanted, Zoe wanted to. She also realized the day had gotten even better. So she snuggled herself closer to Zoe, feeling warm and safe. It slowly grew into a pleasant, relaxed feeling, her heart calming. Eve looked at Zoe, realizing her eyes were closed.

Eve gazed up at the sky. The sunlight beamed down on them, blinding and beautiful, and warming their bodies. It was the most amazing feeling. Better again. She watched as a bird soared overhead, a singular object in the clear blue canvas. Eve wanted to reach up and touch it, to fit the puzzle pieces together and create that perfect blue. Finally, the bird was out of sight, and she felt a pang of loss. Eve supposed having that one imperfection, that one being that was out of place yet beautiful in its own way, was what made it complete. It made it perfect.

Eve glanced back at Zoe, and the girl's eyes were still shut, blocking those chocolatey depths from her gaze. Eve gently tucked a strand of hair behind Zoe's ear, and leaned in to kiss her forehead, but then paused. She would've thought Zoe had been asleep, if not for the racing heartbeat she only just realized of the girl beside her, pounding against her chest. Eve held back a laugh. She brought her lips to Zoe's forehead, kissing her sweetly. Then she snuggled her head to Zoe's and whispered,

"Perfect."
