Emerald Ties

Chapter 6

"I can only see this going one way. We will have to split in half and storm both entrances, front and back. We have numerous medics who can help in healing but without Sakura and her healing mark it will be tough to heal everyone and we may lose a lot of people." Itachi addressed the group.

He stared at the faces of everyone who sacrificed their time to try and rescue Sakura. Ino, Sakura's best friend, was among them as well as Hinata. He knew that many could face grave injuries if not death with this attack, but he could see no other choice. The longer they stayed idle, the more Sakura would suffer. Who knew what his father and the rest of the clan could be doing to her right now or what state she could be in. He knew she was alive as they needed her alive.

"I want to help, Itachi." A voice said from behind him.

Itachi snatched his head back to see who was addressing him.

"Izumi? Why would you possibly be wanting to help now? The last time i encountered you, all you wanted to do was escape. You wanted nothing to do with helping us free her." Itachi said, practically scolding her.

"I know and I am sorry for that. I want to help now. I know that I caused many problems in the beginning and all I want to do is make up for that. As much as I hated Sakura for interrupting everything I had dreamed, what they are doing to her is something no one deserves, especially her. If you allow me to help I promise that you will never have any more issues from me." Izumi said apologetically.

Itachi stared at her. He was dumbfounded that she would be willing to help. By the looks on everyone elses faces they were just as dumbfounded.

Kakashi grabbed onto Itachi's shoulder.

"Think this through Itachi. We could use all of the help we could get. She may have caused issues in the past but everyone deserves a chance to prove how much they have changed and grown. Let her help." Kakashi said to him.

"I will allow it, Izumi. Prove you have changed and the past can be forgotten. Do not prove me wrong. I will not be so forgiving again." He exclaimed.

Izumi nodded and walked to join everyone else.

"This may not be an easy feat and I want to thank everyone for joining together to help save Sakura. There may be many casualties and injuries but there is always that risk in any mission.  This is no ordinary mission and I am sure we all agree, Everyone split up into groups. We hit hard and we hit fast. Our only priority is to get Sakura out of there. Leave my father to me."
