Walking to the bar at a late hour and only wearing a long coat, a short mini skirt and boots, during the winter was something that Luna was not expecting. She was not an irrational person. She always had to make perfectly organized plans when she wanted to do something, but after having the constant nagging voice of her best friend, Mari, beg her to spend New Year's at Johnny's Bar, she had no choice but to give up.

Her friend always reminded her that she needed to live a little and do stuff that she was not used to doing. She needed to lighten up and live the moment without any regrets. At least that was Mari's motto.

Standing in front of the bar, she hesitated to walk inside. She could see from far away that the bar was completely full. There were only a couple of hours left until the New Year.

Receiving another text from her friend, she hissed in frustration because she wanted to be in her apartment alone, rather than spend the night in a bar feeling awkward around people she barely knew.

Mari had been her best friend for fifteen years, and she was the only person she really knew. She had met Mari's boyfriend, Brian, but to meet all his friends was something she was not prepared for.

Luna was a beautiful young woman. She was in college and always wanted to live in a somewhat perfect world by undergoing specific rules. Her friend Mari on the other hand, was very hyper, crazy, and very sociable.

She was the type of person who was always hanging around different people, not caring if Mari knew them well or not. Mari was simply a social butterfly. She danced to all types of music, including those that belonged to TV commercials. She was extremely outgoing, and sometimes Luna questioned why such a hyper person was her best friend in the first place.

Luna sometimes felt insecure about her personality. She was just scared to screw over her "image" by doing something she might regret in the future.

Luna's way of living was the normal boring one a girl could have, which Mari hated because she wanted her best friend to come out of her little closed shell.

Luna stood outside the bar and felt her phone go off. Knowing it was Mari, she decided to answer the call.

"Hey," Luna responded.

"Where are you? We are all waiting for you," Mari replied. Luna looked around and saw some other clients walk in and out of the bar while she just stood in the same spot.

"I am here, Mari, I just don't know if I am going to get inside or not," she said nervously making her friend hiss in frustration. Suddenly the line went silent, and when Luna was about to call her friend's name, she saw that Mari was right in front of her.

"Luna, you need to stop worrying about the stuff you usually worry about. I love you because you are my best friend, but please just come inside and have fun for at least once in your life," Mari expressed, looking at her friend in disbelief.

"Besides, honey, it is freezing out here, so let's get inside," she added, holding her hand and almost dragging her inside the bar.

Luna walked inside, and she saw that it was, in fact, packed. She followed Mari to an almost secluded area where only two big booths were visible.
