The train set off and Neville, Florrie and I spent ages talking. Harry had fallen asleep leaning against the window. Harry looked exhausted but at least he had gotten off on his trial. All of us were very happy about that because we were all so worried when we found out he had used magic outside of school to fight off a dementor.

Florrie looked a lot better too, she was smiling a lot more. All she told me was that she'd had a talk with Sirius and that he'd made her feel better. I didn't ask what the talk was about but none the less I was pleased Florrie was getting better.

Ron and Hermione came back in, ranting about Malfoy. I inwardly shuddered. I hate Malfoy, he's a bully.

" - and he's a Prefect as well!" Hermione ranted. I paled. Great, just great.

Neville noticed how I visibly paled and grabbed my hand, causing me to blush.

"It'll be okay, Tora." He said. I smiled and laid my head on his shoulder.

"Thanks Nev." I whispered, closing my eyes and drifting to sleep.

We all stumbled off the train and I listened for Hagrids booming voice, waiting for him to yell "firs' years this way!" but it never came.

"Where's Hagrid?" Florrie asked, echoing my thoughts. Everyone looked confused as we all clambered into the thestral drawn carriages (yes, we can see the thestrals, we did see Cedric die) and they set off towards Hogwarts.

Moments later we arrived and I clambered out, Nevilles hand steadying me. We all entered the school and took a seat at the Gryffindor table. I looked up at the teachers table. Hagrid wasn't there. Strange...

"Hagrids not there." Harry said. Ron and Hermione looked up at the table, looking surprised as well.

"Weird." Hermione said, watching the first years get sorted into their houses. After the sorting, Professor Dumbledore stood up !nd began his speech but during the middle of it, he was interrupted by a "hem, hem."

I followed the noise and my eyes landed on a short woman dressed entirely in pink. She looked like a toad. A TOAD! I caught Florries eye and we sniggered quietly together.

"Hem, hem!" The toad tried again. Dumbledore looked up and forced a smile. I read his thoughts and he was annoyed.

"Professor Umbridge? Would you like to say a few words?" Dumbledore asked. 'Umbridge' or as I'm going to call her 'The Toad' nodded and approached the podium. When she began speaking I inwardly cringed. Her voice was high-pitched and very 'young-girly'.

I blanked out on most of her 'stimulating' speech and I noticed nearly everyone else in the Great Hall doing the same. Neville was staring at the walls and Ernie Macmillons eyes were glassy and unfocused. Florrie was staring at her golden plate and out of boredom I read her thoughts.

Shut up you old toad. Florrie thought.

I giggled and looked up when I heard Dumbledore clapping. I joined in slowly, nearly dying of starvation. Child neglect much?

When the food finally appeared I attacked it like I hadn't eaten in days.

"Do you know what this means?" Hermione asked, glaring off at 'Pinky dinky doo'.

"No," Harry said. "But I know she works for the ministry. The old bag was at my hearing."

"It means," said Hermione. "That the ministry is trying to take over Hogwarts."

"Oh. My. Merlin." I whispered at the same time as Florrie.

So much for 5th year getting off to a great start.
