isaiah wrote this song before ' wya pt2 ' but new it was greater than just being his first single, rather on a new ep. as in ' wya pt2 ' isaiah admitted that he wouldn't go back to ariana but in call out my name, he said he would as this song was half way written before jay & ariana went public but finished once they confirmed their relationship. he had the line ' call out my name ' lyrics done before seeing ariana and jay together. so the song was initially was to show his relationship with ariana but later turned into contradicting his feelings overall.
we found each other i helped you out of a broken place isaiah recalls when they began to know one another, they both actually helped one another in several ways but in reality ariana helped isaiah out of his heartbreak and drug addiction more than isaiah helped her out.
you gave me comfort but falling for you was my mistake i put you on top, i put you on top i claimed you so proud and openly isaiah always made sure that everyone knew that ariana was his girlfriend and he loved her more than anything in the world, that ariana was his prize possession but he 'regrets' it now during all this hurt, since she has someone else.
