CHAPTER THREE ━ INDOMINUS REX BREAKOUT

CHAPTER THREE ━━━ indominus rex breakout

Hazel could hear nothing but static coming from the radio trying to alert them. "Paddock eleven, do you copy?!" A woman's frantic's voice asked. "Yeah, what's the problem?" The guard questioned while Owen and Hazel looked at the radio on his shoulder. "It's in the cage! It's in there with you!" She yelled.

"Go!" Owen yelled pushing Hazel in front of him so she could get a head start at running thinking she was slow. But Hazel was ahead of them pretty far that was until she heard trees moving and breaking. She stopped which confused Owen that was until they saw the feet of the Indominus Rex. "Fuck you, you fucking fuck!" Hazel screamed running back to the guard. Hazel only heard screams behind her she just hoped they weren't Owen's. 

"Open it faster god damn it!" Hazel yelled at the guard still running to the door. Once it started closing Hazel pushed herself over the edge running like she's never before. Hazel stopped herself to wait for Owen and she thought he wasn't going to make it.

"Owen! Run! We need to get those tickets to Disney World!" Hazel screamed in a panic hoping he would make it. "Shit!" Owen saw the door narrowing leaving not much room for him to get to the other side.

"Run!" Owen yelled at Hazel as he was about to make it. "Under the car!" Owen ordered Hazel making her slide underneath the car and so did Owen. "So when are we getting those tickets?" Hazel questioned terrified for her life.

"Be quiet!" Owen hissed into her ear since he pulled her closer to him not wanting the Indominus to come near her. The Indominus Rex let out a roar and started stomping around the car making Hazel's breath quicken. She and Owen watched as the Indominus Rex walked closer to a construction vehicle that the guard was sitting in front of.

Once the Indominus Rex flung the car into the air Owen covered Hazel with his body making sure she didn't get hit by anything. She flinched when she saw the guard get picked up by the dinosaur's mouth eating him whole. Owen flipped himself and Hazel over. "What the fuck are you doing?!" Hazel hissed while whispering not wanting to be pushed around by him.

"You'll thank me later," Owen whispered into her ear as he cut a tube that held gasoline inside it spilling onto himself and Hazel. "Close your eyes and mouth," Owen ordered her to do which she did as he poured the gasoline over her body and face.

Hazel could feel the Indominus Rex's breath next to her she tightens her hold on Owen's bicep her nails digging into his skin. Owen and Hazel both flinched at the Indominus's roaring.  They could finally breathe again once the dinosaur was away. "So about those tickets." Hazel began making Owen groan.

"It must have been some kind of a technical malfunction," Claire replied to Owen's outburst. The guard gave up on getting Owen and Hazel out of there. "Were you not watching?"

"She marked up that wall as a distraction. She wanted us to think she escaped!" Owen snapped at Claire. "Hold on. We are talking about an animal here." Claire tried to stop Owen.

"But yet you treat them like their nothing." Hazel glared at Claire. "We're talking about a highly intelligent animal," Owen commented.

"Four-hundred meters to the beacon." Hazel heard a woman say. Everyone glanced up to look at the body cameras on the ACU officers. "You trying to get them killed." Hazel snapped not believing they would send people out there with little dart guns. "You're going after her with non-lethals." Owen realised what they were doing from Hazel's remark.

"We have twenty-six million invested in that asset. We can't just kill it." Masrani replied to Owen and Hazel's comments. "Oh, no. Guys we're going after a man-eating dinosaur and we can't just kill because we have all our money invested in a killer dinosaur." Hazel remarked sarcastically imitating Masrani. "Those men are gonna die," Owen informed Masrani.

"Three hundred meters to the beacon." The woman told everyone in the room. "You need to call this mission off right now," Owen instructed Claire. "They're right on top of it."

"You sure because I remember her being on top of us." Hazel snapped at Lowery. "Call it off right now," Owen ordered. "You are not in control here!" Claire hissed at Owen.

"And neither are the dinosaurs but look where we are now," Hazel mumbled but Owen could still hear her and he chuckled at her words. "Blood's not clotted yet. It's close." The officer informed the control room.

"What is that?" Masrani asked. "That's her tracking implant. She clawed it out." Owen answered his question. "How would it know to do that?" Claire asked terrified of what this dinosaur has become. "She remembered where they put it in."

The Indominus Rex came out of hiding and returned to her normal skin. "It can camouflage!" The officer yelled. "Now we know it's part chameleon," Hazel commented watching the scene unfold in front of her and many others. All Hazel heard were beeps everywhere and only saw red lines. "Evacuate the island," Owen ordered Claire to do.

"We'd never reopen." Claire shook her head. "You made a genetic hybrid, raised it in captivity. She is seeing all of this for the first time. She does not even know what she is. She will kill everything that moves." Owen informed making Hazel turn to look at him knowing he was right.

"Do you think the animal is contemplating its own existence?" Masrani questioned Owen. "She is learning where she fits in the food chain, and I'm not sure you want her to figure that out," Owen spoke in a threatening tone. "Now, Asset Containment can use live ammunition in an emergency situation. You have an M134 in your armoury. Put it on a chopper and smoke this thing!" Owen shouted trying to get his point across but it was going nowhere.

"We have families here. I'm not gonna turn this place into some kind of war zone." Claire started putting her foot down. "You already have by creating these creatures now unless you want a bloody battlefield that is filled with humans I suggest listening to Owen." Hazel snapped getting annoyed that no one is listening to her or Owen.

"Miss Murphy and Mr Grady if you're not gonna help, there's no reason for you to be here," Claire told the two making Owen slap his hand against Lowery's dinosaur figurines. Hazel walked into the elevator as Owen talked to Masrani and as soon as Owen entered the elevator the doors started closing.

Once they were closed Hazel let out a sigh. "I've been holding that in since we've got here. These people are insane." Hazel stated making Owen smile. "It was hard not to laugh at everything you said but other than that I can't believe I dated Claire." Owen breathed making Hazel's eyes widen.

"You and Claire? Claire? You? Claire?" Hazel's eyebrows frowning confused. "Only one date though she didn't like board shorts and she didn't drink tequila!" Owen exclaimed telling Hazel the story of him and Claire.

"Who wouldn't say no to a shot of tequila and Owen Grady in board shorts." Hazel giggled but realised what she just said. "So would that mean you would?" Owen raised an eyebrow smirking.

"Maybe." Hazel chuckled teasingly making Owen look surprised thinking she would say no to him. Owen was about to ask her out but then the elevator doors opened to reveal the guard. "You have got to be kidding me," Owen mumbled. "Sir and ma'am I'm going to need you to step out the elevator and come with me."

"Hey! Do you think we're the ones you need to be worried about right now?"

"Back off!"
