When the plane landed Claire got out first and was greeted by some man as Hazel got out and down the stairs, she managed to hear his name. "Ken Wheatley. Welcome back." He greeted her shaking her hand. "Quite an operation you've got going on here," Claire commented on all the cars around her.
"Mr Lockwood takes his humanitarian efforts very seriously. Where's the, uh, raptor wrangler and t-rex mama?" Wheatley asked as Owen came out of the plane. "T-Rex mama right here, what you need?" Hazel asked securing her satchel on her shoulder. "Animal behaviourist." Owen corrected removing his sunglasses.
"Owen Grady." Owen introduced himself shaking hands with Wheatley. "Hey, Owen. Ken Wheatley. What's the lass's name?" Wheatley asked pointing at Hazel. "Hazel Murphy." Hazel shook his hand
"You are the Great White Hunter?" Owen asked making Wheatley laugh at him. "I guess. I'm the expedition facilitator." Wheatley replied taking off his sunglasses. Everyone turned to look at Franklin who was moaning about how hot it was which made Hazel roll her eyes at the boy and Zia did too.
"It's about to get a whole lot hotter." Owen turned to look at the steam rising by the volcano. "What you gonna take off your shirt or something?" Hazel winked with a giggle. "Not what I meant but it could be arranged," Owen smirked making Hazel laugh while shaking her head.
They were soon told to get into some military car and they were driving into the facility but paused for the other gate to open. Hazel was trying her best not to cough because of Franklin spraying his bug spray. "The T-rex would be dead by now, right?" Franklin asked which offended Hazel because Rexy was her child.
"She's supposed to be but luckily she isn't. I hope at least." Hazel told making Franklin's eyes widen. "You hope?" Franklin couldn't believe she wanted this big and huge dinosaur to still be living and maybe run into them.
"Remember who you're talking to the t-rex trainer and Rexy isn't as bad as you think. Well, now that I think of it she does only really like me." Hazel sniggered. "So, she's dead by now right?"
"No, it's impossible to know the max lifespan of a clone in a completely different environment. Take a caveman that would've lived twenty years. Feed him prime meals, give him health care, he's gonna live five times as long." Zia answered Franklin making Hazel smirk at her long response. She was sure Rexy was still alive but maybe another dinosaur took her on. It was pretty unlikely for Rexy to be killed by another since she was tough as nails but Hazel still considered it just in case she built up false hope.
The gate finally opened allowing the vehicles to pass through. Hazel looked left and right to try and find any dinosaur but found nothing that she did find was the monorail for the park above them and she could see the place where Owen and her had their first kiss which gave her shivers down her spine. The entire place was a wreck though. Trees sprawled everywhere, broken vehicles around, broken gates and walls. Everything was just a mess. But Hazel considered it to be her beautiful mess. She could feel Owen's gaze lingering on her which made her turn to him and gaze into his green eyes.
"Bad memories?" Wheatley questioned the couple. "Some were good," Owen told looking up at the ceiling. Hazel smiled while remembering when Claire, Owen, and herself were taking down dinosaurs to find Claire's nephews but also sparked their romance which created their baby inside of her. She couldn't help but bring a hand to her stomach as if to feel her child. She hasn't seen Zach and Gray in a while, she remembered contacting them a few months ago checking in with them to see how they were doing and they were doing well. Zach got a scholarship in computer science while Gray won his school science fair. When the car came to a stop they heard chittering which made everyone stay in their seats and look at each other. "What was that?" Franklin asked terrified already.
"A dinosaur. What did you think it was?" Hazel answered Franklin with a blunt statement. They could even hear the sounds of some heavy coming their way which made Hazel's ears prick up thinking they were maybe Rexy's but to her disappointment, they weren't.
