Ali: I'm kinda nervous babe.
I stop at the stop light.
Emily: she's fine you just took a test before this.
Ali: I know.
We get to the doctors office they take us to a room. I take off my underwear and put a blanket over my legs. Emily kisses my head.
Emily: everything will be fine.
I nod.
Ali: I know.
The door opens the doctor and nurse come in.
Doctor: hi I'm doctor Robbins!
Ali: Alison.
Emily: Emily.
I'm so nervous.
Robbins: ok so it says that you're 16.
I nod.
Robbins: do your parents know?
Ali: not yet we just want to be sure before we tell them.
She nods.
Robbins: ok lets take a look. Just put your legs on the stirrups.
I lay back and do it. The nurse turns off the lights.
Emily: you're shaking.
Ali: I'm scared.
Robbins: here's the baby.
I look at the screen. My vision becomes blurry and a lump in my throat.
Robbins: you're measuring 8 weeks. 2 months.
Ali: that's our baby.
Emily kisses my hand. I wipe my tears. I smile at the baby.
