Derek's P.O.V.
Derek woke up in an unusually comfortable bed. He blinked, remembering all the events that had taken place in the past 24 hours. He couldn't believe that Scott and Stiles had gotten him thrown in jail. Well, he could. They were complete idiots. Lucky for him, the police station was not aware of the werewolf population in Beacon Hills. They found animal hairs on Laura's body, and thus Derek was let go. Not his hairs, of course. But he needed to find out whose.
Derek reluctantly got out of the bed and walked down the hallway. He hadn't brought an extra pair of clothes, so he was stuck with the jeans and long shirt he'd been in for the past few days. He was sure he smelled awful. Derek shut the door and turned on the shower, listening for Madeleine's presence in the house. He couldn't hear anything, so he thought it was safe to assume she was still asleep. He hoped his shower wouldn't wake her.
Madeleine. He couldn't stop thinking about her, and it was driving him insane. Derek had been with a lot of beautiful women in his lifetime, but he'd never met anyone quite like Madeleine. Maybe it was because of her virtual lack of involvement in the supernatural world, and all the other women he'd been with had been fatally subject to the supernatural realm. He knew it was more than that, though. She was smart, much smarter than Derek, and quick-witted. He felt a bit of pity for her, since she was new to the town and her only friends were two idiotic high school boys, but he also felt pulled to her for the same reason. She was alone, like him.
Derek had heard lots of werewolf myths and legends growing up. His parents were both werewolves, as was the majority of his family, and stories were often passed around. His mother always told him about the legend of the luna. In traditional wolf packs, the alpha mates with a female wolf, who becomes the luna, and acts as another leader to the pack. In werewolf legend, the moon was the ruling planet over all werewolves. The moon had a spirit, one that guided werewolves and kept them safe. It was said that the moon chose one true mate for every werewolf, and if the werewolf were to become an alpha, his or her mate would become the luna. This was only legend, and Derek didn't know of anyone who had any real experience with mates or the moon's spirit guiding them. His own parents met in their pack and fell in love, no moon spirit assistance required. Derek didn't believe much in the legend, if at all, but he wondered when he met Madeleine. Maybe it was just a natural human attraction, but he'd never felt pulled to a woman before like he had to her.
He shut off the shower and reached for his towel. He listened closely before opening the door, but again heard nothing. He closed the door behind him and turned around to face Madeleine.
"Oh my God," she said in surprise. He felt a swell in pride (and ego) as she almost hungrily looked him up and down. "S-sorry."
He just smirked at her. "Take a picture. It'll last longer."
Madeleine's face went bright red. "You're making jokes now? You're so weird, Hale." She shook her head and went back into her room.
Derek chuckled and retreated to the guest room to change.

Derek spent the morning eating breakfast and watching TV with Madeleine. They watched a movie he'd never seen before, 10 Things I Hate About You. Derek hated it but he thought it was cute how much Madeleine loved it. Honestly, he spent more of the movie watching her than the screen.
God, what a creep.
She had to take off at 8:50 to get to work- he felt bad for waking her up so early- so Derek decided to head to the gym. The equipment in the gym couldn't exactly match his super-strength, but it was nevertheless a good way to keep in shape, even for a werewolf.
