Act One: Part One
"You Had Me At Hello"

Our eyes meet in a darkened room,
and I am surprised.
I have become an invisible ghost
in a sea of living bodies,
but for you to lay those aquamarine pearls
on the hollow halls I process visionary wonder out of
gives me a small glimmer for the thing they call life.

They say that once you believe
that the universe is everything inside us
you get a different outlook
on the way you prospect this life
and damn did that happen
when a pair of Converse's footsteps
seemed to be walking towards mine.

The dialogues in me had silenced to whimpers.
Thoughts reduced to deja vu.
Voice diminished to ash.
Your eyes turning me to dust.

The ashen-gray hair that sat
on that Renaissance art masterpiece of a face
hinted that you were a diamond
among halls of golden empires.

And then,
the universe in me shook,
collapsed,
inverted,
burst,
and exploded all at once
when you said

"Hello."

Act One : Part Two
"Talk"

I'm curious how
those lips choreograph
each syllable and tone
that you want to say.

Maybe it's the way you speak,
how you say the word like you underestimate it.
And I can tell that the way you look at me
translates your thoughts clearer than still waters.

"So, what's your story?"

Do you really want to know?
Maybe I have secrets you don't want to hear.
Rumors that you have no interest to know.

But I can simply do it,
by working these lips
up to those who ask.

So if you would,
let me fascinate you
with words beyond comprehension.

Act One : Part Three
"Religions"

"Do you believe in Heaven?"

You turn to me for an answer to a question so uncertain.
Eyes staring daggers of curiosity onto mine, never breaking contact.

"I do." - I say dismissively.

There is a concept built upon human imagination
that is so illogical and logical to ourselves
that we believe in the existence
of deities, superiors, rulers, creators
and wonders that are locked for us to discover.

But I can tell you this,
religions are no match
for the hellfire in you that I keep wanting to burn in
and for the Heaven I live when your hands venture into the universe of my skin.

"You are a wonder, you know that?"

Those eyes hook onto me like tridents.
That smirk stopping me in my tracks.

"Many people have told me that.
But you see they don't realize
that what they describe as angels
can also become demons with white wings."

Silence.
Then a glance.
And a kiss.

Just like that,
I am reborn all over again,
tasting Heaven on my lips,
holding the universe in my hands.

Act One : Part Four
"First Contact"

I look at him like I want to talk but I can't. I can't fucking force myself to speak.
Don't be a coward, you just have to say something.

He looks back expectantly,
he knows I mean business.

Act One : Part Five
"Never The Same"

It never feels the same
when our hands touch
and our eyes steal glances
like thieves in the dark.

It never feels like the first time
when you speak words
like how you paint memories
and create masterpieces.

You are more than this body,
greater than any legend could ever tell,
far heavenly than the stars in your eyes,
and the way you kissed me on that night,
changed me into something more.

end of act one.
