So I just watched a short video by Kirk Cameron, where he was talking about what it's like to read the Bible:
He said that reading the Bible is like sitting somewhere in New Zealand, reading lord of the rings and then J.R.R. Tolkien comes over, sits down beside you and explains everything about the book to you, then he tells you that you are actually a very important character in the story.
The Bible is the only book where you are actually a character in the book, no matter who you are. It was written to you, for you.
But he went on to say that in many ways the Bible is actually about us, but we are actually the villain of the story, yet the whole story is about saving us.
Two things came to my mind when he said that:
First was Kylo Ren/ Ben Solo, he was technically the villain of the story, but if you really watch the movie the main plot is about saving him. The same with Darth Vader, but it wasn't a obvious goal from the very beginning like it was with Ben.
Then I had an even deeper thought when the chronicles of Narnia came to my mind. We are all basically like Edmund, he in some ways was somewhat of a villain, yet Aslan (who is an intentional representation of Jesus) died to save him because he loved him no matter what.
Jesus loves us no matter what and it doesn't matter what you've done, he would have died if only just to save you.
