You worked for John Shelby , you had worked for him for a while now . You had become close with the Shelby's , early in the morning tommy had buried you in a pile of work that has to be finished by the end of the day , you would usually have more time to finish you work but because tommy wasn't your boss he didn't care if you didn't have time he would still ask for it to be done . You was too busy focusing on your work you didn't notice that John was staring at you from the corner of the room
"Alright Johnny boy ?" Arthur shouted "Oh , you're doing it again , we all know that ya like er , eh?" Arthur said to John making himself chuckle
"Fuck off Arthur , no l don't , she just works for me ." John replies to Arthur in a defending tone
"Yeah alright Johnny." Arthur said just before Ada walked in the room . Ada walked over to you
"You ok y/n ?" She asked
"Yes thank you Ada l just have a lot of work to finish off . Are you alright ?" You replied .
"Yeah I'm alright , me and pol are going down to the garrison in a bit do you want to join ?" Ada asked . You knew that you had to finish your work off but you said that you would bring your work with you . Polly arrived shortly after the boys left to go to the garrison. You grabbed your work and headed down to the garrison with Ada and Polly.
You got to the garrison and ordered a whiskey . You finished of your work after you had had a long time of the girls distracting you by winding you up about you liking John , you told them he was just your boss but they didn't believe you . You knocked on the door to the private room that Arthur, John and tommy was in you told them it was you and they let you in .
"Sorry to disturb you Tommy l just wanted to give you my paper work , l just finished my work and l knew you was in here ." You said to tommy as you smiled at John .
"Thank you y/n .l Tommy replied as he took the paper work from your hands .
Just as you was leaving you heard John say :
"Why do you give her such a hard time by giving so much fucking paper work ?"
Tommy replied by saying
"Shut up John it's only because you like her eh ?" He chuckled when he had finished his sentence .
You was sitting with the girls as John came up to you .
"Here he comes ." Polly said making her and Ada laugh
"Y/ n can l have a word please ." John asked you
"Of course John ." You replied
John took you to the order of the room
"Y/n , l think l like you , now l know that may come as a shock but ..." he said just before you interrupted him
"I like you too John ." You said quietly but you said just load enough so he could hear you .
"You do ? I was so nervous to tell you I ..." he said just before you interrupted him again .
"John ?" You said
"Yeah ?" He asked
"Shut up ." You said as you leaned in and kissed him . His kiss felt like something you had been waiting for for ages now it felt right to be with John .
