A New Perspective

After I left (Y/N) on his own I ran as fast as I could to find a blue herb hoping I wouldn't be too late. The last place I remember seeing one was in one of the rooms with a typewriter. Sadly I had to fight through the monsters we already killed once.

"Dammit, I don't have time for this!" I said as I just ran passed as many as I could. As I was running a new monster jumped in front of me. It was hunched over with long claws and had a reptilian look to it. Not sure how to deal with this new monster and not having much time I pulled out my shotgun and dumped 3 rounds into what looked like its head, effectively removing it.

"Can I just go 5 minutes without running into a monster?" I said getting annoyed at how many monsters there are in this mansion. I finally reach the room and find the blue herb sitting on the floor. I grabbed it praying that I wouldn't be too late. I repeated the same process running back just avoiding everything I could.

When I got back to (Y/N) he was slumped against the wall with his eyes closed. I feared the worst and quickly ran over to him to check his pulse. He had one, but it was very faint. I quickly crushed up the herb and put it in his mouth. It took a minute for him to finally swallow the herb.

I spent a while just waiting and making sure he was safe. I'm not quite sure why I want to protect him so badly. I've been feeling a lot of odd things but due to the situation we're in I've not had time to think about them too much. Eventually, the exhaustion of everything must have caught up to me because I eventually fell asleep next to him.

I was woken sometime later to (Y/N) moving around. After I gained my bearings I realized I was sleeping on his shoulder and quickly brought my head up. Shortly after his eyes opened and he looked around. It was like an invisible weight was lifted off my shoulders to see he was alright.

"Welcome back to the land of the living. Glad this mansion didn't claim another victim." I said giving him a small smile.

"I guess I owe you a thank you since you managed to get that blue herb then. If it worked then they must negate poison." He said like he didn't just almost die

"How are you so calm? You almost died!" I said frustrated that he seemed to care so little about his life

"I'm calm because I had faith in you. I mean, if anyone was going to be able to help me it was Jill Valentine." He said giving me a smile and a nudge. I just sighed and shook my head but couldn't stop the smile from creeping onto my face.

"If you hadn't just almost died I'd kill you for that," I said but he knew I wasn't serious because I was smiling.

"Well I think we've had enough fun, we need to get back to escaping this mansion." He said getting up. I don't know why but I felt a little odd when he got up. Not happy or mad but a little empty. I decided to ignore it for now and got up to follow him. I noticed I felt better as I stood closer to him. It's not hard to guess what I'm feeling but I'll deal with it if we get out of here.

"When I was told we lost contact with Bravo team I thought maybe they were just out of range, I would have never expected this when we got here," I said as (Y/N) had a look like he remembered something.

"The reminds me, how did you guys get up here? I didn't see any cars or I imagine we would have just run to them instead of to a random mansion." He asked probably hoping we could use whatever we used to get here to get out.

"We came via helicopter but the piolet took off and we don't know why so now we're stuck here," I said still unsure what exactly happened to Brad.

"Well if he flew off maybe he'll come back. We just have to hope we can get in contact with him or that he can find us somehow." He said optimistically. He's not wrong, Brad could come back but after leaving like that I doubt he will.

"Hey, I just remembered while I was running to get that blue herb I ran into a new monster. It was like a large lizard with sharp claws. I killed it pretty quick with my shotgun but it looked pretty dangerous." I said to warn him of the new threat.

"Of course there's more. I don't think there's going to stop being more until we get out of here. I hope the others are doing fine." He said causing me to think the same thing.

We continued running through the mansion finding more of Bravo team dead. We eventually noticed that some of the monsters we were killing had the S.T.A.R.S uniform on meaning they were once Bravo team so these monsters are previously dead people or animals that have been re-animated into these monsters.

I didn't like having to kill, or I guess re-kill the members of Bravo team but we didn't have a choice.

"I know having to shoot what was Bravo team is probably upsetting for you but I look at it like we're doing them a favor. Who knows what they could be feeling or experiencing while they're like this." He said making a good point. They could be in extreme pain like that.

"I guess that's a good point. Looking at it like that we're helping them rest in peace instead of whatever this is." I said gesturing to one that we had just taken down.

As we were making our way lower into the mansion we noticed the mansion started looking more like a laboratory than a basement leaving me and (Y/N) wondering if maybe we'll start getting some answers...

(A/N) alright, that's another chapter down. I decided to switch things up and make this Chapter in a 'Different Perspective'. I'm not going to switch perspective very often but it will happen every now and then. As you noticed Jill's not dense, she knows what she feels but as any normal person would see it now's not the time to talk about it. Don't worry though she will talk about it. As always let me know what you think and tell me any mistakes you noticed.
