When we eventually got back the first place we went to was to the chief of police in Raccoon City, Chief Irons. When everyone told him what happened he practically laughed them out of his office. I was just outside since I wasn't actually a member of the police. Something I did manage to hear as the door was closing is him mutter 'good riddance'. Sadly, I wasn't the only one as Jill was ready to rip his head off, I couldn't blame her but yelling at him as she did, didn't end well. A suspension from the force, home arrest, and a scolding later me and Jill were on our way to her apartment.

"Is Irons always such a dick?" I asked Jill since I've never met him before. Though I do remember her saying he was an asshole the first time we met.

"Not normally to that extent so I can only assume he's probably in Umbrella's pocket and if that's the case we're in trouble." She said with a sigh and looking down.

I decided to be brave and hold her hand to comfort her. She looked up at me a little shocked but smiled none the less. Though she wasn't very contempt with just holding hands as she wrapped herself around my arm, now shocking me.

"I never did thank you," Jill said confusing me.

"Thank me for what?" I asked unsure what I did.

"Well, first you showed up out of nowhere and helped us. Then you've had my back nonstop since. I honestly don't know what would have happened if you hadn't shown up." She said looking at me with a small smile.

"All I'll say is even though that mansion was a living hell to go through I can say there are a few good things that came from it," I said causing Jill to raise an eyebrow in confusion.

"And what might those good things be?" Jill asked leaving me a little surprised that she couldn't guess.

"Well, one is I met and made some new friends in both Barry and Chris. Then there was meeting Brad. Though I don't know him super well he seems like a good guy. Though none of it compares to the most amazing of it all." I said giving a cheeky smile as Jill lightly pouted.

"Would you stop stalling and tell me." She said causing me to laugh lightly.

"Now why would I ever need to tell you when I'm already looking at her?" I said a look of realization dawned her face. Then quickly her shock was replaced by a bright smile.

"Well, when you put it like that I guess I found something pretty amazing too." She said nudging me still smiling. After that, we both leaned in a kissed. It wasn't an intense kiss lust or of extreme passion. It was a light kiss and showed our love for each other. Though it didn't last long.

"Sorry, am I interrupting something?" Chris said with a slight smirk as he walked up to us.

"Just a little but did you need something?" I said as Chris reached us and I gave him the first bump.

"Yes actually. I wanted to let you guys know that I'll be leaving soon along with Barry. Before you ask it's because Irons obviously isn't on our side and sticking around here won't do any good. Though I think Barry wants to try and see if he can help his family first." Chris said and I couldn't blame them.

"You're not wrong but sadly I can't leave now. Thanks to the house arrest if I try leaving I'll just be arrested." Jill said sounding frustrated.

"And who's fault is that?" I asked looking at Jill as she suddenly became very interested in her shoes.

"It's Irons fault." She said quietly causing Chris to chuckle at her attitude.

"While Irons is the one that assigned you to house arrest your the one that gave him the power to do so by going off on him," I said looking at Jill as she slouched a little.

"Well, he's the one that said good riddance to the deaths of Bravo and some of Alpha team. They were my friends, some were like family to me." She said getting very upset causing Chris to make a gesture that essentially meant 'good luck with that' as he bailed on me.

"Look, I understand what he said was extremely disrespectful but what he thinks doesn't matter. He's a dick that is probably being bribed by Umbrella. The only opinion that matters at this point is yours. As long as you remember them for who they were then it doesn't matter what others think." I said as I brought her into a light hug.

"Your right. It's just hard hearing him talk about people that I cared about like that." She said as I rubbed her back.

"I know but like I said you know who they were so as long as you remember that and cherish it, what other people think doesn't matter," I said as she looked up at me a smiled lightly.

"Your right. It's too late now though, the damage is done and I'm stuck here." She said annoyed at this fact.

"No 'we're' stuck here. Now, how about we hurry and get to your house because I don't know about you, but I could sleep for a week." I said trying to lighten the mood. Based on Jill's chuckle and smile I assume it worked.

"You're right we should get a move on and thanks again for everything." She said latching onto my arm again as we started walking again.

"For you? Anything." I said smiling down at her while we walked. I wasn't sure what laid ahead but as long as we stick together, Im sure we'll be fine.

(A/N) Alright here's the next chapter. A slightly shorter one to fill in what happens after everyone got back. On the bright side, I finished this one much sooner than the last one. As always I hope you enjoyed and be sure and tell me what you think.
