Finding the Subway HQ

Carlos gave Jill a radio before we made our way up the subway stairs into what looked like a lobby area with a few odd details. There where multiple boxes that looked easy to break but I wasn't too worried about them. What really caught my attention was the clock in the corner with different colors and what appeared to be slots to place 3 different objects in. I'm curious about what will happen if we place the 3 needed objects in it so hopefully, we find them. They look gem-shaped so there can't be too many options.

After we finished looking around we went towards the slightly ajar shutter door. Jill and I nodded to each other knowing what was most likely on the other side. We quickly crouched under it as a crowd of people ran by, all except one that quickly entered the subway after we left. Once we looked to our left we saw a zombie make his way out of the ally.

"I knew we would run into zombies but I was hoping it would have taken a little longer than this," I said with a sigh causing Jill to nod before shooting it in the head.

"Thankfully it was just one of them. They're not so bad to deal with one at a time." Jill said with a smirk as we walked down the ally... Just to see multiple zombies with a couple being on the ground eating at someone and the others just standing there, weird.

"And this Jill is what we call jinxing ourselves," I said with a small smirk as she gave me a glare.

"Oh har har, yeah laugh it up." She said as she took aim as I chuckle slightly.

"Oh come on you have to admit you kinda asked for it," I said as she continued to glare though it was quickly directed at the zombies before she killed them.

"I know but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it." She said which just made me chuckle more. She wasn't amused by this as she began to glare at me harder before starting to walk ahead without me.

"Hey! wait up. I'm sorry alright but come on you have to admit that was kinda funny." I said as I caught up with her. She just shook her head before finally giving a small smile.

"You're just lucky I love you." She said making me smile.

"True, I am pretty lucky in that regard," I said before kissing her cheek causing her to give a full smile. After that we moved forward and saw two separate fenced off areas, both having a few zombies trying to knock them over on the other side from us. Once we reached the farthest one the radio Carlos gave Jill went off.

"Alright there should be an ally nearby that will lead to the power station," Carlos said as we noticed the only ally nearby was up in flames.

"You mean the one that's on fire?" Jill asked Carlos sounding slightly irritated.

"Maybe? Surely a tall drink of water like yourself won't have a problem with a few flames." Carlos said before ending the communication.

"Asshole, " Jill said as she looked at me.

"Well, he's not wrong. Though it's more like the heat of those flames is nothing compared to how hot you are." I said with a small smirk as Jill just playfully rolled her eyes with a smirk.

*sigh* "men, though I enjoy a compliment from you over him any day of the week." She said as we started to head back in hopes of finding something to put out the flames that isn't some cheesy pick-up line. Though we didn't make it far as the zombies knocked over a fence and started to make their way towards us. Jill wasted no time dispatching the slow-moving threat.

"Well, that's convenient. Maybe we'll find what we need that way." I said to Jill referring to the now opened path the zombies created for us. Jill nodded in response as we made our way down the steps. We noticed there were a decent number of zombies at the bottom but nothing too bad. Jill once again dispatched them all with ease, though it sucks not having a gun myself.

"Hopefully we find a gun for me to use soon. It would be nice to be able to help." I said voicing my concern.

"I'm sure we'll find another one soon enough. Until then I wouldn't worry about it." She said as we walked into a place called Moons Donuts. It didn't take long to notice the larger looking undead cop who luckily enough has his gun in its holster. Jill quickly took him out and I went to grab his gun.

"It feels wrong to be doing this but I know he won't be using it anymore," I said as I grabbed his gun, the holster, and all the ammo he had. After I finished that we left out the other side of the donut shop we saw the subway HQ and a pharmacy. We decided to check the pharmacy for anything useful. It was a good thing we did since we found some herbs and gunpowder?

"This is an odd place to find gunpowder but I'm not complaining," I said gaining a light chuckle from Jill

"At least if we get low on ammo we can try and make some," Jill said as she grabbed the gunpowder. After that, we made our way into the subway HQ to look for anything useful. We ran into a couple of zombies in the hall and lucky for us found a fire hose which is exactly what we needed. After grabbing that we checked the nearby room and the first thing I noticed was the shotgun chained up on the wall.

"Man, that would come in handy," Jill said as she began to inspect the rest of the room.

"Let's keep an eye out for any bolt cutters. It would be best if we didn't leave this behind." I said hoping we can get our hands on it.

"That and a lock pick for some of these lockers and such." She said and I nodded in agreement. After that, we took a look in the final room which seemed to be the controls for all the subway trains. Sadly we can't do anything until we get the power on, so we started our way back to put out the fire and hopefully get to the power station.

Why do I have such a bad feeling about this though?...

(A/N) I know I know it's been a while but before you get the torches and pitchforks let me explain. I've been really busy and have been dealing with some stuff I'd rather not go into detail on. Either way, the chapter is done and here so hopefully that will satisfy everyone for now.
