It's been a while now that Jill has been stuck at home with me keeping her company. With everything the news has talked about we decided on a plan to leave Raccoon City by the end of the month. We only have a few days left but I don't know if the city will hold together that long at this rate.

Sections of the city have been closed off and the police force is spread thin trying to contain the people that have been going 'berserk'. Sadly they don't know the extent of what's actually going on.

I'm out getting a few things for when we leave but something doesn't feel right. I feel like I'm being watched and it's too quiet. Normally I can hear the sounds of the police shouting, shooting, or both but right now it's quiet.

I heard a noise and saw it, zombies. There's a horde of them coming. They must have broken through the polices defense. I call Jill as I hurry back to the apartment. It took a second but she picked up.

"What's up?" Jill asked probably thinking I wanted to ask about something we need.

"Jill hurry and start packing, we don't have time to wait any longer we need to leave now," I said slightly panicked.

"What? Why what's wrong?" She asked sounding concerned.

"Zombies broke through the police defense over here and a horde isn't far behind me," I said while looking back to make sure they didn't get to close. Thankfully one thing I learned at the mansion is the zombies don't really run.

"Alright, I'll start but Brad called a little bit ago. He said we need to be careful because something was after us. I don't know what but watch yourse-" Jill wasn't able to finish as there was a loud crash and the phone disconnected. I dropped what I was carrying, quickly put my phone up, and ran as fast as I could back to the apartment.

When I got back the apartment building was going up in flames and falling apart. I couldn't go in the front because it was already covered in flames so I checked the ally door. As I did Jill came flying out and into me as the building collapsed behind her.

"Jill! Thank God you're alright... Or I guess alive is a better way to put it. You look like hell. What happened?" I asked since Jill looked pretty banged up.

"Something huge and strong. I don't know what it was but it probably belongs to Umbrella and is meant to kill us." She said as I helped her up.

"Well, how strong is it?" I asked curious as to how hard it's going to be to kill whatever the monster is.

"Well it took multiple shots to the head like the bullets were made of cotton candy and the state of the building is completely thanks to him." She said and my eyes widened as we started making our way out of the ally.

"Shit," I said realizing how hard this all just got. Suddenly Brad ran past the ally before noticing us and backtracking.

"Jill, (Y/N)? Over here!" He said even though we can see him and aren't that far.

"He does know it's almost impossible for us to have not seen him in that yellow jacket right?" I whispered to Jill earning a light chuckle.

"The city's being overrun. We have to get out of here." Brad said once we reached him. He then signaled us to follow him.

"We know Brad. Jill was attacked by some monster and I saw a horde of zombies on the way." I said and Brad looked concerned.

"Shit! We don't have as long as I thought then. Quick, follow me." He said and led us up the street. It looked horrible with crashed cars, fires, and some odd container burrowed into the street a bit.

Brad got distracted by helicopters flying over and tried to flag them down but failed to gain their attention while running towards a fence with a lot of zombies on the other side. Then Jill and I noticed the zombies knocking it over and warned Brad. He quickly led us into an empty bar. Brad and I held the door while Jill looked for an exit but sadly Brad got bit in the process.

"Shit, that's not good," I said as Brad looked at his wound then me.

"We both know what this means," Brad said solemnly.

"Don't say that Brad, it could be different, or maybe we can find a cure," I said even though I know it's very unlikely.

"We both know that won't happen. Just do me a favor, look after Jill, and treat her right." He said seriously.

"I promise you, Brad, I will," I said looking him in the eye's making him smirk and nod.

"Good. NOW GO!" He said shoving me away and holding the door on his own. I nodded to Brad with respect as Jill shouted that she found an exit and I ran to her.

"Where's Brad?" She asked looking behind me.

"He uh... Didn't make it. He got bit and stayed behind to hold them back so we could escape." I said looking at Jill sadly as she looked shattered which makes sense. Without Brad, all her friends from S.T.A.R.S are dead except for the ones that left, and that leaves me to be her support.

"Look I know you're sad but we need to go. Well have time to mourn later but first, we need to survive." I said gripping her shoulders supportively.

"You're right, let's go and not waste the time Brad bought us." She said

We started walking before she saw a dead cop slumped against the wall and took his pistol. We started walking just trying to find a safe spot to think of how to escape.

"Hey, you down there! Get to the parking garage roof and we'll get you out of here!" Someone in a helicopter shouted down to us. Jill and I looked at each other and nodded in agreement.

Hopefully, luck is on our side but I have a feeling that it won't be that easy...
