Chapter 13: Sports Festival pt. 1

Last week was rough. The attack on USJ, my little breakdown. It was tiring. But now we start school up again. It's all coming together and walking in this building makes it even better. I walk into that classroom with my fire wings. Not a lot of people were in there but I still looked intimidating enough for them to look terrified.

I sit down and wait for Eijiro. I told him to not walk with me today and so I flew here to get here before normal. I sit down and listen to music to drown out everyone around me. I know I'm all happy but it's a mask sometimes. I put my head down and think. "Y/n!" Ah. Denki. I look up and see my wings changed to water and there was wind and water droplets around me creating a small water wind storm.

Shit shit shit.

"Sorry Kami. I'm not thinking straight right now. Thanks for pulling me out of that." I change them back to fire. My hair is in a ballerina bun on top of my head. Kaminari and I talk for awhile till everyone else shows up. Kirishima looks worried for me but I tell him I'm okay. "Shut up and sit down." Dad said. We all went quiet and he started talking. "We will be having the sports festival next week and so you all will need to train hard and well. Also you can't use your hero costumes. It's a three round festival."

We all nod our heads then the bell rung signifying lunch. I wait for Mina and all of us walk down to the cafeteria. The sports festival will be the place where I'll be noticed. I know so much about it that with the way I think I can figure out the twists. I get the same old lunch I always get. Fried rice and shrimp. When the whole squad sits down they bombard me with questions.

Mainly on how I'm doing. "I'm okay I promise. Denki this morning I got too lost in thought and I'm sorry if I scared you by making that mini storm around me. It won't happen again. That day when we all trained I wasn't doing well but now I'm perfectly okay." I tell them.

They look satisfied by that answer. Next week was the sports festival and I will win. No matter what and who there is I will. We all train and train till the day of the festival.

Time skip one week..

We are all in the waiting room of the stadium where the festival is being held. Then Todoroki out of nowhere, "Midoriya, by a standpoint I am better than you and stronger. I will beat you."

"Oh ah yea probably." Midoriya agreed with him.

"Hey we are a class we shouldn't be bringing each other down! How unmanly!" Kirishima always talking about manliness. Crimson Riot is his favorite hero. The chivalrous hero. He's always been like this. But after hearing that Todoroki left the holding area for us. I ran after him.

"Hey Todoroki? Can I talk to you?" He turned his head and nodded. We walked for a bit before I started to talk. "I was wondering why you never use your fire side. I know it's a straightforward question but it's always crossed my mind."

He sighed, "My old man, Endeavor, it's his quirk that I was given. I'm a creation to him a masterpiece. My siblings weren't born perfect until me, so he trained me everyday once I got my quirk. That scumbag hurt my mother and me. I was isolated from my siblings never aloud to play or be with them unless at meals. One day my mom was talking on the phone about me. My left side scared her she said. I was looking more and more like him. After I stepped out and asked her what she was talking about she looked horrified and poured boiling water on my eye. That's how I got this scar. She was sent away and since then I've hated his quirk."

"Oh my god. Todo-Chan I'm really sorry. I didn't know your childhood was that bad. I could tell you were suffering but I didn't think it was that terrible."

He looked over confused how I could tell.

I sighed this time, "My childhood wasn't sunshine and rainbows either. When I was 4 before I had developed my quirk my parents were murdered. They were hero's, and were murdered in our own house. I never remembered my father but my mom. I look just like her I can hear everything she told me before she sacrificed her life. 'My child. My little princess I'm sorry but I have to go. Momma and daddy are going to be gone forever after I go. But here take my phone text Uncle Aizawa. He will save you' she handed me her jewelry and my father's wristwatch. She then kissed my head and after she left the closet I texted Aizawa. All I heard after were screams and there was nothing I could do. After he saved me I later developed my quirk 2 weeks before my birthday. How worthless. That day I promised myself to never be scared again. That villain who killed them didn't know I was alive. I used to sleep in my parents room and he never went into that room so he never saw or thought a child could be here."

We both looked sorrowful about our lives and each other's. We talked more I told him my parents quirks. Moms was fire. Kind of like Endeavors but not as cool. Dads was water and water healing. That's how I can heal by my own water and other bodies of water. I apologized and so did he. We both felt as if we put burdens on each other.

Then the gong rang indicating we needed to go down there. They introduced all the classes and we all stood and listened to Midnight. Bakugou who placed 1st in the entrance exam gave the pledge. It was so cocky and prideful. 'I'm better than all of you' wow. Katsuki. We pull him down and I scold him. Our first challenge is an obstacle race. We all line up and I bring out my fire wings. When the bell ring I fly about love everyone to get out of the crowd. Then the robots from the entrance exam.

I didn't fight these before so I blast them with ice along with Todo. They are unstable so I just fly above it all. I'm called out by Present Mic. Aizawa commented on my quirk and what it is exactly. The crowd became shocked and cheered. I used my water and earth quirks to make the ground rough and hard to get past. Then it was a put with rope connecting them.

Dangerous.

I use the earth to create a pillar below me and bring me closer to the end. When I got past that I began running. I stopped at the mine field and thought for a bit. I used my air to bring everyone a little closer and then I started to fly again. This time I went slow cause no one but Totoroki was near me. I see him stepping over the mines. That sucks he can't fly.

Whatevs.

I go to the finish line as Katsuki gets to the field. He looks pissed. Whoops. I look around at the crowd and smile. I smile and wave to them. Then I watched on the screen what was happening. Deku used the mines to propel forward up to the finish line where Todo and Baku are. He comes in second with Todoroki in third and Kat in fourth.

I walk over and calm him down. By putting him in a water lock so he couldn't kill Deku I float him over with me. "Hey Izu nice job on that strategy. I didn't really do much and don't worry about Baku he's okay." He nods and smiles, "This is so cool and nice job your quirk and all that training has prepared you for this moment." "Yea it has."

I smile and walk away over to the squad they finally are back. They see Kat being contained and just smile and we talk about the obstacle course. Midnight told us the second challenge and I was bait. Even though I had the most points they wanted to be on my team because of how well my quirk was.
