EMILY'S POV

Smells of wet air hit my nose and filled my lungs. It was dark. Not a hint of light. The sky was not just a dark blue, it was black. I looked to the moon and saw that it was black too. It was a different shade than the sky so I could tell the difference, but still black.

I extended my arms and watched as rain droplets hit them from the never ending sky. It looked similar to a black hole. One that was not trying to swallow me up, but one that was trying to push me away. Like I was too much for it to handle.

My head was not wet. In fact none of me was. My arms let the rain drops roll off like it was nothing. I looked directly above me and saw that a tree covered me from the drizzle.

The tree was black.

Again it was a different shade than the moon and the sky but it was black. The leaves were also a shade of the deep color.

I began walking away from the tree and down a dirt pathway that was in front of me this whole time. I must not have noticed it right away.

The ground was black.

I sped walk until I saw something that caught my eye.

White.

After a few moments something white began to fall from the sky.

Snow.

I turned around and saw a cabin.

The cabin.

The one I was kept in for over a month.

It was black. All of it.

Suddenly the entire ground was covered in snow and I knew I needed to leave.

I ran as fast as I could in the other direction. Do I remember how to get out of here?

The black forest was hard to maneuver in.

A shadow moved across the pathway. I hide behind a tree. My heart was nearly beating out of my chest.

I peered over the trunk I was behind.

It was a girl.

"Hello?" I called out softly.

Her long hair whipped in my direction to reveal a face. Her hair was dark. Dare I say...black. Her clothes were black. Her skin was pale. Like a ghost.

I came out from the tree and walked closer to her.

It was Katie. The hair, clothes, and pale skin was not her but the face was.

"K-kaite?" I stuttered.

She tilted her head. Her bottom lip puffed out and tears fell from her eyes.

The tears....they were black. Thick and black. Almost like blood.

I reached my hand out to her but as soon as I touched her the tears stopped. Katie's head cocked back to being straight.

I blinked and she was gone. Everything was.

I stood in a white room. There was a single mirror on the wall. I saw myself. I was crying. My tears were black.

I touched my face but nothing came off. Then I realized my hand didn't move with me in the mirror. That was not me in the mirror, I mean it was but it wasn't following what I was doing.

It wan't a mirror. It was a window.

Me from the window closed her eyes and turned around to begin walking away. I pounded on the window for her to come back. She didn't. She laid on a bed.
