Xia spent the entire day in school glued to Changbin and Yuqi's sides, save for the classes she had without them. This was her attempt of dodging the last two people she hoped to run into that day, Mark and Jaehyun. Mark because she couldn't believe she actually sleepwalked to his house, but mostly Jaehyun.
She just knew the older boy would bring up the entire date conversation again and she wasn't ready to give him an answer just yet.
As soon as the last bell of the day resounded, she quickly packed up her bag, moving to leave the classroom and away from what she knew to be Mark's amused gaze at her, but the boy was faster and wrapped a hand around her wrist before she could move away. "Are you avoiding me, Huang?" he mused, a smile playing on his lips.
"N-No," she cleared her throat, pulling her hand back to her side to adjust her backpack straps, "no. No, I'm not. What makes you think that?" A nervous laugh escaping as she avoided his eyes.
"If this is about last night, or this morning, depending on how you see it," Mark started, "I'm okay, Xia, you don't have to feel bad. Besides, Xuxi already warned me about it, remember?" He ruffled her hair with a smile, winking before walking out of the room, whistling to himself.
Xia stood with her mouth agape, stupefied at the boy's out-of-the-ordinary actions; he sure was getting more confident.
"Found you." She jumped, putting a hand over her chest, looking up to find Jaehyun standing by the door. "I haven't seen you all day, Xia. Have you been avoiding me?" The same question two consecutive times, but this time the girl could only look away uneasily.
Jaehyun sighed. "Hey," he nudged gently held her chin with between his thumb and pointer finger, nudging her face as his eyes searched for hers, "look at me." When she did, he offered her a small smile she couldn't help but return. "About what I said last night, I do have feelings for you. It doesn't matter if you don't return them, just don't pressure yourself, okay? But," he moved to grasp her hands in his bigger ones, "will you allow me to take you on one date?" When he saw reluctance on her face, he added, "Just one, and if I can't change your mind, I promise I'll let go and pretend none of this ever happened."
Xia would have been lying if she said she wasn't considering the offer. The younger Huang twin ended up nodding after some thought, deciding she would be dumb if she did not at least try. And so the two teenagers stood there, perfectly content in their own little bubble as Jaehyun looked at Xia with adoration in his eyes, while the girl ducked her head in an effort to hide her blush.
Meanwhile, Mark was walking home alone. Xuxi had decided to take Yuqi to an impromptu date and he wouldn't want to third wheel. He slowed his pace when his phone rang, fishing it out of his pocket to see it was his mother. With an excited glimmer in his eyes, he answered the call. "Hi mo--"
"He escaped," his mother's panicked voice filtered in from the other side, "they can't find him in his cell!"
