I really owe you guys a longer chapter. Here's that. My writing style has changed a bit and it'll be a bit more descriptive and grammatically correct so I hope you'll enjoy.

♠️Ciel's POV♠️

I stood in front of the door, tightly clutching the shard in my hand, allowing it to slice the skin as a crimson  liquid oozed out. If I just did this one thing, I could finally be free. I wouldn't have to go through anymore pain. Nothing could hurt me anymore.

My free hand slowly reached for the door handle as I tried to process what I was about to do. Once I did this, there was no going back....and maybe...that was okay.

I took one step out of the bathroom, stopping to look around before continuing. My steps came to a halt as I spotted the back of a head of raven hair on the couch.

Clutching the shard even tighter, I gripped it with both hands and raised it over my head, aimed at the man. I quietly make my way to the couch, making sure I couldn't be heard.

Once arriving, I raised the shard even higher and prepared to strike. My eyes tightly shut as I brought the shard down with as much force as I could muster.

I didn't hear screaming as I expected to. I hesitated before opening the eye that wasn't covered to see what had happened and was met with black eyes glaring back at me. He held my hands with a tight grip, allowing the glare to linger for a moment more before letting go, swiftly taking the blade in the process. My stare lowered as a looked the floor.

No...no! My chance....I could've been free! No...

"Ciel."

My eyes shot up to meet his. I was going to get punished for this...wasn't I..?

"S-sir! I-I swear that this is just a big misunderstanding!"

He got up, taking steps toward me as I stepped back.

"Of course. Raising a blade sharp enough to kill over a mans head and striking down with force is seen as a misunderstanding, no?" He asked in a voice as smooth as silk. And of course, my own tone did nothing to match it.

"I-I-I...uh.."

I backed into a wall, cornered. He stopped in front of me, kneeling down to reach my height.

"Let me make this clear, Ciel."

I'm screwed.

"If you make anymore attempt to kill me, your punishment will be worse than what you'll receive now. Am I clear?"

"..."

"I'll ask once more. Am I Clear."

"Y-yes, Sir!"

"Good." He replied before getting up.

"I didn't wish to do this, Ciel, but you've brought it upon yourself"

"Please..."

I begged. My sight averted to look at the ground, tears clouding my vision.

"Ciel...just what do you think your punishment is?" The man chuckled.

My eyes shot up, meeting his.

"We-well...normally, they torture me...or starve my for days on end.."

The mans eyes seemed to widen.

"That's absolutely preposterous! Have they no heart? Ciel, I can assure you I would never do anything of the sort! You have my word."

He...he wouldn't...? He really...

"Promise..?" I dared to ask.

"Promise." He smirked.

I nodded, looking down for a moment before jumping into his arms. He quickly caught me, a shocked expression on his face for a spilt second before morphing into a caring expression.

"Maybe we'll just skip the punishment. You've already been through enough"

My face was buried into his chest as he picked me up. My legs wrapped around his waist as my arms hung loosely around his neck to prevent my fall. Though, I doubt it was necessary as he kept a firm grip on me.

A weird thing to think but, he smelled like peppermint. The smell was almost intoxicating but left me with a safe feeling. He might not be bad..

"Thank you..." I mumbled

"A master who can't treat their own carefully isn't worth his salt"
He stated before beginning to walk. The tall man went up a flight of stair and a few extravagant hallways before stopping at a room. Stupid rich people. He opened the door, stepping in before closing it behind him.

Woah....

The room they were in was a giant bedroom. The walls were covered in dark gray paint, going perfectly with the shining dark hardwood flooring. There were another two sets of doors in the room. One was a balcony with glass sliding doors while the other looked to be a restroom.

There was a medium sized sofa sat across from a large flatscreen tv. Behind the sofa, two small steps led up to a large bed and two black bedside tables. The bed had very dark grey sheets and a dark backboard. Two floors on one story....Stupid rich people.

Why was I here? Was he going to...-No! He promised me he wouldn't do anything of the sort.

He suddenly spoke.

"You've had quite the day. Get some rest. You're safe here. No one will ever harm you like that again. Not as long as you're with me."

I nodded into his chest. He walked over to the bed, gently lying me down and tucking me in.

"Sweet dreams"

Tch. I'm not a kid. I'm 16! But still...

I'll give him a chance. Maybe all humans are that bad. Maybe there's hope.

Those were my last thoughts before sleep took me away.
