Ciel was on the run. It was a stormy night. Around midnight, the rain poured 10 times worse than in daylight. No one was sure why but, hey, can't expect them to know everything. Ciel was a Neko, meaning, he was human but had cat ears and a cat tail. Nekos also behave like both cats and humans with a tendency to turn into their cat form.

You see, Ciel was a rogue. These days, Nekos were treated at pets to the more wealthy. And by more wealthy I mean those who don't even like nekos but just want to own something shiny, expensive, and new. That's how they all were in Ciel's mind. Even though Ciel never had a master, he'd seen how it worked. A friend from long ago showed him how cruel and wicked humans were.

Ciel ran and ran. Behind him were the hunters. Those in charge of capturing and selling rogue Nekos. They wore leather Coats and shoes. Hats that didn't look any different material than the other things they wore. Ciel wore tore clothes that he'd stolen from shops during the time when the employees were on break.

Ciel was out on the street running from these wicked men. The men not far behind. Ciel gritted his teeth. Couldn't they just give up? They'd been on his tail for hours. Every time Ciel thought he lost them they would just appear. From hours of running, Ciel was extremely fatigued. Bruises etched his body from the countless times they chased him through bushes or hit him with something.

No..don't give out on me now legs. Just a little further.

His legs were weak unable to keep a steady pace.

Ding.
Ding
Ding.

That's it! I could sneak onto the ship!

The ship was not far. Even so, it would take a miracle to get him on board. The ship was already departing. Using his last energy boost, Ciel bolted to the ship attempting to lose the hunters.
All I have to do is leap and cling onto something

Taking in a giant breath, Ciel leaped.

So close.

Alas, the ship was a bit too far. And so, Ciel went tumbling down into the icy water.
