A horn blazes in the distance. I swing my legs off of my feather down bed to get a look out of the window. I see the man on horseback, the one who struck me with his phoenix sword. He holds the cloak that Annalisa was wearing when she disappeared in his fist. A sneer is pasted on his face and I feel the urge to wipe it off. I once again run down to the meadow to greet the visitor. A crowd had grown around the red haired Beny which I elbowed my way through. I tackled the man. His horn clangs on the ground as I hit the man who attempted to kill me and he just continues smiling,
“You're alive,” he says condescendingly, “What a surprise.”
My fist rings down on his face until I have no energy left to punch. My knees push into his chest and I am nose to nose with the man. He spits blood in my face and laughs,
“That all you got? Don’t you know, your not supposed to hurt the messenger; especialy if you want your pretty little silver haired damsel to stay alive.”
I find myself being hauled off of the phoenix man and I just stand there, bewildered.
They have her.
I push back out of the crowd because I cant be near this evil man any longer

Russle, the queen’s assistant, came into the vacant storage area where I have come to call my own. Small paintings of mine are strewn all over the ground with paints that I made myself. He tip-toes around my pieces of art to get my atention,
“The queen wanted me to tell you that the man wh... that you met earlier was carrying a ransom note in Annalisa’s handwriting.”
“And the man?”
“When we were taking him to custody, he used his power and got away.”
I look down as my fears are confirmed; our last chance of finding where they took the princess, gone.
“What did the note say?”
“Better yet, you can read it. The Queen confirmed that it was the princesses handwriting and her scribes made copies.”
He hands me the piece of beautiful white paper. Flourishing cursive letters decorate the page and it says:
Dear friends, family, and Peers,
I am sAfe and sound in a undiscLosed location. These people want to take revenge, I just hope thAt it leaves me unharmed. They request that Nathanial will return to the palace to talk with King Tuin before the moon beComes full or else they will kill mE. Please come,
The Silver Fox
I am not surprised that the king wanted me behind bars. I had saved so many Benys from the concentration camps, enough to get on his radar. Ignoring the fact that i am going to be sent to the enemy, I read over the letter for further clues. Something about this letter just doesn’t sit right with me. Several parts are scratched out as if someone did not want us to see it. She also signed her name the silver fox, which is a name that she hates extremely and would never sign it unless forced to...wait, if the phoenix man is a Beny, that means that there might be others on their side, especially if they are working for the king. I have heard many reports of Beny’s with the power to control people or their minds. If this is not sincere, that means that she was probably fighting the Beny with all her mind, and knowing her, she probably left a hint for us to find.
I push some paintings out of the way to have space to set down the note. Some of the letters in the middle of the words are capitalised for no reason. I take them out in order, P-A-L-A-C-E. Palace, she is in the palace, the middle of Tuin’s domain.
I run out of the room to tell the royals.
