She stayed quite in front of the mirror for a while now. It was already eight but the curtains were still closed. Her bed still in a total mess and a pile of dirty laundries fulfilled the floor. She took a look on So Eun's bed. It was Intact. Her sister didn't sleep there last night obviously.
After almost fifteen missed calls, she texted her this time: "Where are you?" As she made Dutch braids which went along her shoulders with her chocolate brown hair. The phone rang for a video chat: it was her best friend Noah. She picked up and put the little talking box in front of her on So Eun's pink desk.
"Noah Andros Aur," she said nervously. "Should I use her make up things you think?"
"Hi, how are you my friend...fine and you?" he yelled sarcastically on the other side of the screen. His wheat blond hair was a sort of a longer modern bowl cut with curtain bangs and a clean back.
"Why are you screaming" she frowned with her fierce and elegant eyebrows.
Noah switched the camera, his roommate Stanley was still sleeping.
"Just kidding with him, he's totally stoned" he replied in a laugh. Stan threw him a pillow but he dodged it easily.
"I've called her, texted her since last night and she didn't reply yet". The brown haired girl got up to open the curtains after Noah joked that their room looked like Dracula's house and saw a picture of her and So Eun perfectly placed on her wooden nightstand and drew a smile on her lips. She could never forget this day.
It was a week after she officially became a Kim. They were six year old. They played outside, building snow angels and a nose less snowman the entire afternoon. The two little girls wore matching purple beanies and Mr. Kim captured their cute face blushing by the winter cold breeze of December; two weeks before Christmas. He always said people may change with time but pictures never do.
She missed Beacon Hill, her childhood town, where she found her home and what we called happiness for the first time with her foster family. She missed Mr. Kim's stories before bed and Mrs. Kim's cooking; she made the best mochi ever. They used to eat them with rosebay tea called hwangsan-cha in Korea after a long and exhausting day at school. But now, they weren't little girls anymore and she knew that for sure. However she's always overprotective with So Eun, she had no one else than her and Noah after all now in the largest city of America
"I'm sure your stubborn sister is completely fine with her boyfriend right now" he said. "You know. They are waking up together, shirtless after a..."
"Ok, Ok I get it..." Abigail grumbled cloyed. "Anyway, How do I look?" she asked.
She showed her frail little body with a palazzo pants, denim jacket over a black jewel neck shirt and a brown ankle boots. The wheat blond haired guy giggled and Abigail stared at him.
"Come on Abby, it is an audition for Broadway not a vogue magazine interview" he teased as he put his semi rimless frame glasses on his nearsighted sword grey eyes. He looked like a sexy Harvard student. He had nothing to do with the old Noah anymore.
Abigail met Noah in high school. He was one of those geek guys from chess club by the way totally nerdy. He wore a harry potter glasses; she was even taller than him at that time. He used to be lonely on his own, out of sight of others and passing all his break times at the library. Before the annual Beacon Hill football championship, Abigail noticed a guy watching Gryphon's training from the benches exactly at four p.m. every day: it was Noah. She was obviously the one who always talked, trying to make the conversation. Noah was very hard at sixteen. If she didn't find his secret later, the reason why he was there all the time, they would never have been so close.
