The golden sun got up like a baby and started painting the dark sky into blue. Fresh windy, cool and crispy air whistled like a ghost. Abigail could see people on their way to work through the window shop. Some were in their car stuck in morning traffic jams; some were walking slowly on the sidewalk to the nearest subway station of Brooklyn and some were waiting their buses by the road.
She went to her part-time job early this morning so she could be with Noah and So Eun in the afternoon. The store bell rang like a bicycle honk and three young men appeared. They had probably the same age as her she thought.
The two of them had rugged and very tall bodies for their age. Maybe they were older than she thought. Their bodies fitted perfectly with their James bond smoking. The third had a willowy and delicate body; he wore a simple tee with a brown leather jacket over it along with a denim pant and a check shirt around his waist tying a knot in the front. His eyes were green but not kind of shade that was easy to describe, it was almost like they were both green and yellow at the same time with blue creeping in around the edges as if it were trying to take over.
Abigail was sort of bewitched by his deep and strange gaze.
"Excuse me. We are looking for Abigail." He said. His warm and soft voice gave her Goosebumps.
"Abigail is just in front of you." She replied. "Can I help you?"
"Indeed..." He said as his thin lips drew a mischievous smile.
The sound of dropped items from discs section caught her attention before the wolf gray haired guys with his two bodyguards said something.
"I'll be right back." She said. A customer was gathering the boxes on the floor.
"Let me do this."
"No, no. It's ok. Just give me a second and I'll put everything back." He said quite amused. "I did it so it is my responsibility. You know, from where I am from, I am supposed to be mean and use my powers to harm others all the times which is a very bad side of being a Darkhan... I just want to make things differently in here."
Abigail stayed quiet, asking herself what he was talking about but then just smirked. Noah was definitely the person who could have known what to say in that kind of situation. He loved fictions too much. The only fiction they used to talk and about were Harry Potter, otherwise nothing else. Whatever it was Halloween after all, everything is allowed.
"Let me help you anyway." She insisted and joined him.
"I'm Athys."
Abigail startled.
"Oh, I'm Abigail but my friends call me Abby."
"It is a pleasure." He said and bowed delicately. His very British accent made her wondered if he was also acting. From a monologue about his powers to a curtsy, his acting skill was amazing. She bowed as well too then returned to the checkout. The three guys were no longer there.
Less than hour and she could finally join her friends at Stanley's mother costume store. Noah has texted her they were already there.
The more she checked her phone every minutes, the more time seemed freezing.
