Alice approached him, slowly, quietly. He sat in the empty parking lot, staring up at the stars. Once she was close enough to him, Alice grabbed his shoulder tightly with her hand. Startled, he swung around, then sighed with relief when he realized it was her. "You scared me," he said looking calmly at her. "I thought you were the boss, coming to drag me back to the store for work."

Alice laughed nervously. This boy that she was talking to...who was he?

That's right. It was Joseph, her boyfriend of two years. Several times, she had caught herself in the act of staring at him. A seventeen year old albino boy, gorgeous, young, and innocent. Alice had loved him with a burning passion.

"So," Joseph continued. "I'm off work now. I'm glad you could meet me here."

Alice's lips shakily curled into a smile. "What did you want to talk to me about?"

Joseph sighed. "I've been waiting to tell you this...I just didn't know how you'd react. Alice, I...I was just thinking that we could use some time apart."

She froze. "What do you mean?"

"I'm sorry, Alice," he said. She expected him to use the "it's not you, it's me" bit, but he didn't.

He simply said "I'm sorry."

Alice took a deep breath and pulled her hair back from her face. She approached him, starting to reach her hand towards his head and run her fingers through his soft, white hair. He shook his head briskly and moved away from her in one swift movement. "Stop, please, stop!"

She backed away, startled by his sudden retort. "A-Am I doing something wrong?"

Joseph shook his head frantically. "No, of course not. I'm just...I was looking through that box. You know, that box you keep under the bed? I know, I shouldn't be looking through your stuff, but...I found something."

Alice nearly jumped, startled by his statement. "What did you find?"

"I found, um...wires. Specifically, a bunch of really sharp ones jumbled up in a knot. They looked like they were taken from a machine," he looked up at Alice, a look of sheer terror crossing his face. "And Alice...the wires had blood on them. Why do you have bloody wires in a box under your bed?"

Alice suddenly stared darkly at him. "You really want to know?" She started to dig her fingers into her own skin. No blood was drawn from it. "You never know, Joseph, you may have wires in you, too."

"What're you talking about?!"

She proceeded to tear her skin off, violently taking it and clothing from her body, to reveal that she didn't have a body at all. Wires made up her entire body, almost like pieces of scrap metal. She flashed Joseph a sickening smile and asked, "Joseph, you know what I hate? I hate boys who can't keep quiet to save their own lives. I met a couple of boys just like you not too long ago. You can say you love me, but as soon as you find out the truth, you try to leave me! You're exactly like everyone else. If you'd just stayed with me...I wouldn't have to do this."

Terrified, Joseph started to back away, slipping and falling back down. Alice leaned towards him, giggling as she watched him tremble with fear. "Tell me," she said. "Would you want to know the truth if it costed you your life?!"

She began to laugh maniacally as Joseph stumbled to his feet and started to run. Alice started to chase after him, and so he ducked behind a line of carts and hid. "Joseph?" she sang. She suddenly appeared in front of him, picking up up with strands of wires and stabbing them into him until he finally died. "I suggest we try an experiment," she set his corpse on the ground, lifting up his shirt and pointing a long, sharp wire towards his stomach. "I'm going to see if you're really made of wires."

She started to make an incision, only to reveal his blood and internal organs. "I guess I was wrong," she said standing up and looking at him with disappointment. "There's nothing inside."
