Mountains Afternoon

On top of a train, team RWBY, Shirou, Qrow and Muramasa were seen fighting off against a swarm of Manticores, with a large Sphinx leading the small army of flying Grimm.

Shirou and Ruby were sniping at the Grimm, with Shirou's arrows completely destroying the monsters, while Ruby's shots only forced the creatures to land on the train. Ruby stopped shooting to join her team in melee combat with the Grimm.

Ruby: Keep them at the back of the train!

Her command was barely heard through the strong winds of the blizzard that was starting to pick up pace. She sliced a manticore, but failed to defend herself against an incoming fireball, that Weiss had to deflect to protect her leader.

Weiss: Thank me later!

She skates off, with the help of her Semblance. Blake holds down one of the creatures by extending her weapon to its chained scythe mode, Yang then propels herself through the Grimm, killing it. Landing next to Blake.

Yang: Good to see that you haven't become rusty.

Blake just scoffed at the statement, running to the next Grimm. Qrow and Muramasa were masterfully eliminating the manticores, faster than any of the huntsmen in training. The Saber sliced off the wings of the creatures, causing them to fall onto the train, and drag their bodies across the carts while Qrow cut them up.

Team JNR, Oscar and Rin joined the others, climbing the side of the train, reaching the top. Jaune, Ren and Nora hold their ground, killing any Grimm that got close enough to be shot by Nora's grande launcher range. Oscar went over to Qrow to led his assistance, with Rin jumping carts to join team RWBY, shooting Gandr curses at the Grimm.

Shirou finally having had enough of the pursuing manticores, projects over a hundred weapons into the raging sky, clearly straining himself to exhaustion. The weapons rained down upon the train, missing his allies and evaporating into particles the moment they made contact with the train.

All the Grimm on the train were successfully killed by the swords, but the ones circling the transport from the skies, easily evaded the projected blades. But then all the manticores flew back, surprising and concerning all the fighters.

Suddenly, Oscar's voice was heard from the other side of the train.

Oscar: TUNNEL!

Everyone started to retreat into the cracks between the cars. Rin and Weiss however, were caught by surprise by two stray fireball, causing the two to stubble to the edges of the train.

Shirou and Ruby quickly reacted to save their partners. Ruby grabbed Weiss' arm, pulling her up...

Ruby: Thank me later!

...But then used her semblance to carry the two between the car. Shirou had to be more creative, since Rin had already fallen over, lunging forward to grab her arm, swinging her through an open window, into the train.

Shirou got up, now being the only one on the top of the train. Shirou turns to see that he didn't have an escape route like the others, now only a few centimeters away from the tunnel.

Shirou: My fucking-

Shirou was smacked by the mountain wall.

Earlier Mistral Train Station

Qrow: (voice over) It's been two weeks since the attack on Haven. The official report states that the plot to destroy Mistral's CCT tower. Was thwarted by Ghira Belladonna, and the Faunus milita group from Menagerie. A Huntsmen and some students coincidentally visiting the headmaster were also able to lend some assistance. Unfortunately, Leonardo Lionheart lost his life while trying to defend his school. And those responsible for organizing the attack, managed to escape. As I'm sure you can guess, there is a lot more to this report than I'm willing to say in this letter. But for now, what I'm trying to say is that we're on our way to Altas, James. There's a good chance we'll get there before this letter does but encase we don't. I need you to know we're bringing a lot more than bad news with us. See you soon -Qrow.
