Until I Remember You

Chapter 3: Our First Date

Dawn woke up that morning of the sound at the kitchen. She wore her robe, tied her long brown wavy hair into a bun and head downstairs. She went into the kitchen and found Noah, in an apron cooking some breakfast for them. Noah in his white t-shit and a jean, Noah's outfit showing up his muscular body. "Like what you see?" Noah smirked when he saw Dawn staring at him. "What? Eww no!" Dawn turned around hiding her blushing face from Noah. As much as she irritated by him, she can't lie that Noah is hot! "I'm pretty sure you're drooling when you are staring at me" Dawn turned around facing Noah with her pretend annoyed face. "I was not!" Noah laughed and continued with his cooking. Dawn walked closer to Noah to see what he was cooking. The smell of the eggs and bacon totally made Dawn's stomach having a party. Noah poured some orange juice in a glass and hand it to Dawn. Dawn took it and sat at the stool at the counter. "What is your job?" Dawn asked Noah out of sudden. "A pilot". Dawn nodded and drank her orange juice. "What are you doing today?" Dawn asked again. Noah plated the food and put them on the counter. "Nothing." Dawn nodded again and asked if they can go out today to buy things for Jasper. Noah looked at her with a light in his face. "Just the two of us?" Dawn took a piece of toast. "No, 4 of us. You, me, Nate and Jasper." The light on Noah's face suddenly dim. He thought that he could spent some time alone with his wife. Noah just nodded.

After breakfast, all of them went to the shopping mall. Nathan was annoyed with Dawn because she woke him up that early. Nathan spent all night playing Fortnite and of course he was irritated by Dawn for waking him up. Dawn was excited shopping for Jasper but not the boys. Dawn took so much time on picking a bottle for Jasper. As they went home, Noah secretly drove to the beach where they first met hoping Dawn could remember about them, even a little bit. Nathan was asleep in the backseat with Jasper when they were arrived at the beach. "How beautiful." Dawn was smiling the entire time they were at the beach. When the sun starting to set, they drove home. It was hopeless for Noah as Dawn couldn't remember anything.

Noah decided to take Dawn on a date that night. He wanted to recreate their first date so that Dawn can remember their memories together. When Noah told Dawn about it, Dawn was hesitating to go alone with him, but she said yes after some time. Noah was wearing a long sleeves shirt and a blazer. He sprayed some cologne that Dawn got for him and waited Dawn downstairs. Nathan was not in a good mood that day because Dawn woke him up from his sleep and forced him to go shopping with them and he's babysitting Jasper that night. But, anything for his sister and brother in law, he will do anything even though it was annoying for him.

Noah was speechless when he saw Dawn walking down the stairs. She was wearing a mid-navy off shoulder dress that showed a little of her cleavage, a set of dazzling diamond earring matched her necklace and a black heals with white purse to complete the looks. Her hair was down, and she put a little bit of make up that glow her up even more. "Are we ready to go?". Noah still stood there in amazed until Noah threw a pillow to his face. Noah was awake from his stared. "Go now!" Nathan said. He was annoyed but jealous at them same time. He wished that some day he will go out like they both go.

Noah was driving to the restaurant when they had their first official date when Dawn asked him about his cologne. "Are you wearing Jimmy Choo?". Noah smiled and said yes. Dawn raised her perfect eyebrows. "I love the smell". Noah smiled again with satisfied. "You got them for me". Dawn looked at him and looked in front again. She felt disappointed because she can't remember anything.

They arrived at the restaurant a moment later. Noah has set everything into perfection. They sat at the same table they sat on their first date and have the same wine as they have. After they ordered, they both sat in silence. Noah was staring at his wife while Dawn was looking at the glass in front of her that was not that interesting. She was avoiding from making an eye contact with Noah. After they were in that position for 5 minutes, Dawn looked at Noah and asked, "why are you doing this? I don't know you. I just thought that you're Nathan's friend that stayed with us and Jasper..." Dawn paused. She couldn't continue her words. "Jasper what?" Noah was confused when Dawn pause out of sudden when she said Jasper. "Who is Jasper's mom? Are you in a divorce?" Noah was shocked when she said that. Divorce? "No, I'm not." Dawn get even more confused. There's a lot of questions in her mind that need their answers. "Then? Did jasper's mom leave him with you?". Noah was angry because Dawn said all of that. "Jasper's mother never leaves him and I'm not in a divorce. I am happily married. It's only my wife couldn't remember me!" Noah snapped. It was shocking for them. Dawn felt so guilty for asking inappropriate questions to him. "I'm sorry". Noah looked at Dawn and held Dawn's hand. Dawn was shocked, but she doesn't want to let go. She was lost in his touch. "No, I am sorry. I shouldn't act that way." They smiled at each other and the food arrived.

After some conversation, Dawn became more comfortable with Noah. She knew that she can trust him. Noah looked at Dawn, "do you remember this place?" Dawn looked up and shook her head which means no. Dawn can tell that there's a pain that keep portrayed in Noah's eyes. Dawn felt the connection between them but somehow, she can't explain it. Imagine having a totally stranger to you, claimed that you're his wife. Of course, it felt so unrealistic. That's was in Dawn's mind. But the pain in Noah's eyes, she can't unseen it. "Maybe we can be friends?" Noah face lighten up a little bit. Even though Dawn offered him to become 'friends', there were hopes for him to help her recall their married life. "Sure" Noah smiled.

After having a dinner, they decided to take a stroll at the beach. They walked side by side, along the waters. The sound of the waves was so peaceful. "Why don't you tell me about us?" Dawn spoke out of nowhere. Noah looked at her with disbelief. "Why?" Noah knew that his question was stupid, but he wanted to know why she said that. "You said we're married so why don't you tell me about it?". Noah stood facing her and smiled. Those eyes, he could lose in them. "We meet here, at this beach. It was summer time, I was walking to my friends and you were just got out of the ocean from surfing. We bumped into each other, and I spilled my drink all over you." Dawn laughed. She covered her mouth when she's laughing. That's what she's always does. "And then what happened?" She asked again. "You're so furious about it. We fought a little while until I asked you for a lunch together. You laughed at me and said the lunch was on my treat since I spilled my drink all over you." Noah smiled when he recalled the first time he laid his eyes on his beautiful queen. "How did you propose to me?" Dawn starting to feel that she needs to know more. What Noah told her, she felt it that it was a part of her. "Well, you're in a plane to Thailand and was about to take off. I asked the airport security to escort you out of the plane. I told them to tell you that you stole something. When you're out of the plane, I propose you at the airport runway." When Noah told the story, a sharp pain starting to attack Dawn's head. She almost passed out, but Noah catches her. "Let's go home". Noah felt so guilty. Dawn must be thinking so hard about it.

Dawn felt a little better after laying in the car. When they got home, Nathan was sleeping on the couch with Jasper sleeping on his chest. Dawn picked Jasper up carefully and brought him upstairs to his crib. Nathan woke up and found his brother in law looking at him. "I'm not gay bro. You don't have to look at me while I'm sleeping, you look like a predator that way." Noah slapped his head and Nathan growled in pain. "So how was it?" Noah sat next to Nathan. "It was great." And Noah smiled. Nathan yawned and walked upstairs, leaving Noah alone at the living room. It was the best night for Noah. 

After putting Jasper into his crib, Dawn went inside the room and shut the door. She smiled and felt beyond of happiness for the date night. She covered her blushing face with her palm. But the questions of who Noah is in her life, still unanswered.
