Chapter 20
Eilam Dussoni looked at the soldiers lined before him. Each of them had left their packs for various reasons and ended up becoming rogues. There are very few lone wolves in their pack too.
Eilam's second in command Zuget Kulich, a rogue beta stood at the helm of the group. Zuget is two years older than Eilam and had taken in 15- year- old Eilam into her fold and kept him safe from the previous ruthless rogue alpha. She is like a sister to him more than his beta. Later when Eilam grew up, he killed the Alpha when he tried to rape a few of the omegas. After Eilam took over, many came from across the lands to join them. Now at 26, Eilam is the Alpha of the biggest rogue pack in the continent. And he is not an idiot. He can see a game from miles away and is very much aware of the game the two 'ally' packs are playing. He has no intention of letting them hurt any omegas. The rogue pack has a plan for themselves. They plan on bargaining for land with the Royals.
Eilam is very much aware of the fact that the two packs they are 'aiding' will turn on them if they manage to topple the Royal Pack which even they, the rogues, knew very well is near to impossible. But he also knew that the Elder King and Alpha King will not grant them land without any leverage, especially because they are a rogue pack. No royals trust wolves with no allegiances. Even though they call themselves a pack and he is the alpha, no formal alliances are sworn in the rogue packs. They are all free agents in issues besides food and safety.
"We ensure that the omegas are not hurt. We will capture the only unmated omega in the royal household as leverage. Prince Nikolas Antonakis. Zuget has seen him and will give you the description," said Eilam.
If it was up to him they would be taking all three of the Royal Omegas as leverage but he is not an idiot. Attacking mated omegas will have the mated alpha's go out of control and into blood lust. They definitely do not want that. Their brother is as important to them but their instincts won't make them go insane at least if it is the brother being held as leverage.
"I have heard Prince Nikolas is a very well-versed swordsman," said the chief of warriors. Kanse is a wise man but he is also extra cautious.
"He is an omega prince. I don't think they teach them a lot. He must be the most protected one. Will be too soft, pampered and entitled, we will have a crying whimpering mess on our hand. Royals are not gods. These people make up all kinds of stories," said Eilam.
No one said anything after that. Even though he is one of the youngest members of the pack, he was selected the Alpha because of his ruthlessness and attitude. Eilam is sure his care for the pack has also helped a great deal.
As they charged to the packhouse, they are not actively participating in the fight, but some of them are doing the bare minimum to not look suspicious at the beginning itself. They charged inside.
Kristof was standing outside the castle, poised to strike, so was Nikolas. Niles is at the door. They saw the warriors from the other pack leak in. Kristof smirked as he jumped and so did Nikolas. Niles was poised to strike should anyone reach the door. This is their battle plan. The omega pack guards were led by Kristof and Nikolas. The ten betas who made it were incapacitated in no time. War raged in the borders, but the Royal Pack was standing their ground, firmer than ever.
Niles smelled rogues.
"Rogues are here," said Niles loudly.
At this unexpected turn, all the Rogue hunters and warriors led by Eilam stopped short.
"Well, we lost the element of surprise. We still have the upper hand. Charge. Remember to surround prince Nikolas. Zuget will identify him," said Eilam.
