Deerkit padded out of the nursery, tired. He just woke up, and he could barely see a thing. He shook his head and looked around for his friends. But there was no sign of Iriskit or Turtlekit.

He flicked his ears and turned, padding back in the nursery. He looked at Sorrelheart. ''Mother, where's Ferretkit?'' He asked, worried.

''He already went outside.'' She purred.

 Deerkit nodded and sprinted outside.

''We should leave camp!'' He heard a squeak. He turned and noticed his friends next to the exit of the camp.

He padded towards them. ''Were you going to do something without me?'' He hissed.

Iriskit looked at him, surprised, but then relaxed. ''Oh! No, I wanted to suggest that we wait for you. But since you're here-''

''We want to leave camp.'' Turtlekit whispered, ending.

Ferretkit looked at the exit of the camp. ''But we're not allowed to go out!'' He sighed.

Turtlekit smiled, nudging him. ''Are you scared?''

 ''Of course not!'' Ferretkit hissed.

Turtlekit slapped his back with his tail. ''Shh! We don't want anyone to hear us.'' He whispered.

 Ferretkit nodded and backed off.

''So, are we going?'' Deerkit asked.

Turtlekit nodded and looked around, making sure nobody watched them. ''Let's go.'' The black tom with white spots meowed, sprinting away. Iriskit ran right behind him, and Deerkit followed. Ferretkit hesitated, then followed.

Deerkit looked around, surprised. ''The forest is so pretty!'' He purred. The sun shone above them, its rays shining through the tree leaves, on the kits' pelt. He heard the nearby river flow peacefully.

 ''Where should we-''

''Why do we have to patrol the ThunderClan border again?'' A voice hissed.

Deerkit froze. A RiverClan patrol was coming! Before he could do anything, Ferretkit pushed him in a bush, while Iriskit nudged Turtlekit after them. Deerkit shook his head and watched.

''Because they want the Sunningrocks, and we must make sure they don't mark them.'' Houndspot rolled his eyes.

''It's just a pile of rocks.'' Hazelpaw hissed, and her mentor, Hollypurr, nudged her sharply.

 ''Don't say that!''

''Ooh, the ThunderClan border.'' Turtlekit whispered. ''Should we go in their territory?''

''Are you crazy? We have a high chance of getting caught!'' Ferretkit hissed.

 Turtlekit rolled his eyes. ''Scaredy-cat.''

 ''I'm not a scaredy-cat!'' Ferretkit hissed.

''Can you two ever stop fighting?'' Iriskit lashed her tail.

 Deerkit stared at the she-kit.

''What are you staring at?'' Iriskit raised an eyebrow.

Deerkit looked away. ''Nothing.'' He mumbled.

The four kits followed the patrol and hid behind a tree. They waited until they left, then approached the Sunningrocks.

''Wow, Hazelpaw sure was right. ThunderClan and RiverClan are fighting.. over a pile of rocks.'' Turtlekit mumbled.
