'Why is it impossible to wake this damn boy. JIN!'
I was woken by the harsh whispers in my ears.
It's like everyone feels the need to wake me today. I just want to sleep damnit.
'What? What do you want?' I said grumpily, rubbing my sleep seduced eyes. The couch I had fallen asleep on was one of the most comfortable things I had ever slept on. I considered not speaking any further and pretending to be invisible.
There was no reply to my question. Perhaps my plan had worked. I was invisible and could continue with my nap. I opened my eyes to check if the sleep intruder had left, expecting to see an empty room but instead locked eyes with a purple haired man towering above me, his one eyebrow cocked in amusement.
'You weren't in the dining hall for dinner, so I figured that you might have gotten lost,' He said, a glimmer of a smirk showcased on his lips, 'I didn't expect to find you having a nap on the god's couch.' He said glancing over to a sleeping Taehyung who was still laying on top of his bed. He hadn't bothered to get under the covers.
I lifted my tired body, pushing my hair back as I gathered in my surroundings, letting the rest of the sleep fade from me.
The sleep faded real fast.
'I missed dinner?' I said, not even bothering to hide the panic in my voice, all thoughts of my invisible napping had disappeared.
I could feel my insides begin to protest. They were waging their very own war on me. Idiot. How did I manage to trade food for sleep on my very first day here? I was starving.
Namjoon held his hand over his mouth, trying to control his laughter, his shoulders however could not be so easily controlled as they gave away his amusement with incontrollable shakes.
'Nah, wouldn't let you miss dinner man. Nobody wants to hear the thunderstorm in your belly again,' he laughed, holding his hand out to help me up.
'Thank the gods!'
I shot up excitedly, only to steal a glance at Taehyung. Should I be leaving him on his own like this? After what he had gone through tonight?
My gurgling insides answered for me, Namjoon yet again finding amusement in the sound.
He started walking to Taehyung's door, but I lingered behind a little. I looked down at the sleeping man, his chest rising and falling slowly with every breath. His features were soft and peaceful, but the sadness seemed to linger even in his slumber.
Namjoon paused too, glancing at my hesitant stance.
'You coming? We're already late.' He said.
'Y-yeah.'
I lifted a woven black blanket that was placed decoratively at the end of the god's bed. This had to do for now. I didn't want to wake him by trying to lift the covers beneath him.
I shook out the folded material, gently laying it over Taehyung so that I wouldn't wake him.
'Let's get going, shall we?' I said, walking past Namjoon, avoiding any eye contact with the smirking man. Why was he always so damn smug.
We made our way through the brightly lit golden room and out through the massive doors that were protecting them.
'I see he still hasn't changed his clothes.' Namjoon hummed, both his hands clasped leisurely behind his back as we walked through one of the palace hallways.
'Give it a break Namjoon,' I sighed 'he had a tough evening.'
Namjoon's brow furrowed at my words.
