The morning sun peaked through the slit of her curtains, making Y/n groan in annoyance. She checked the phone beside her head, time reading 7:51am.
"Too early.." she mumbled, turning over in the bed.
After a few moments of tossing and turning, Y/n settled with the fact that she wouldn't be getting any more sleep. Pulling the covers off her pajama clad body, the woman rose and stalked to the kitchen.
She went about her daily routine with little to no obstacles; wake up, make coffee, eat, brush teeth, etc.
Despite the buzz the coffee had given her, Y/n still progressed rather slowly, finishing by 8:45am. She had class at eleven, and if she wanted to be on time she better hurry.
[time skip]
Y/n took to her house the moment class ended. She had the follow up interview today, and she needed to freshen up and change before heading out again.
The walk to her apartment was much more comforting during the day. The afternoon sun occupied the walkway, and the slight breezes rustled through her hair as she walked. It made the whole journey go by faster. That, and the fact that Y/n was worrying about the interview for the entirety of it.
Lock clicking as she opened the door, Y/n rushed inside. She set down her things and changed her clothes, putting on an extra layer of deodorant and perfume, as well as brushing her teeth again for good measure.
Once completed, the girl straightened her hair and watered her basil plant on her windowsill. She had forgotten this morning, and it needed to be watered once a day.
Y/n couldn't afford nor keep a pet at her apartment. So the basil plant (Bailey, as she called it.) was the closest thing to a companion she had.
After saying good bye to her leafy friend, Y/n put on her shoes and headed out to the interview.
The commute to said interview wasn't eventful, and mostly consisted of her listening to music while being cramped between other passengers.
God did she hate public transportation.
However, the bumpy ride was seemingly worth it as she entered through the double doors.
Y/n was grateful for the cool air the AC was emitting, slightly fanning herself in hopes of speeding up the process.
She sauntered to the front desk, and was greeted by a man in what seemed to be in his late thirties. He looked amiable, greeting her with a bright smile and a handshake.
"Ms. Y/n..." he trailed, clicking through his computer. "Oh, here it is; 2:30pm, floor three, interviewer- Mr.Kim."
Looking up from the screen, the man, who introduced himself as Alex Lee, handed over a few papers. One of them seeming to be a map of the building.
"Alright, you're good to go! Head on over the elevators," he pointed to a spot on the map, "Press three, and it should be the first room on your left. Good luck!"
"Thanks a lot, I hope to see you soon!" She smiled, turning away with a bit more confidence than when she first entered. If she was hired, at least she'd have a familiar face to be greeted with.
The elevator was empty, leaving Y/n alone with her thoughts as it rose.
The position she applied for was a secretary, all she really had to do was filing and appointment reminders. Luckily, it was a paid internship, with light work.
That's if she got it, and boy was she hoping she would.
Doors opening, Y/n stepped out and peered around the hallway. Coming upon the door on the left, she knocked curtly.
"Come in!" Someone yelled.
With a quick breath, Y/n opened the dark cedar door.
She was met with a tall man, who looked as if he couldn't be any older than 21. He had dark locks with eyes to match, his pale skin making him look even sharper.
"Please, take a seat," he gestured to the chair on the other side of the desk.
Y/n quickly sat down, adjusting herself before her eyes met the interviewer's once again.
"Now, I'm sure you understand how this is going to go. I'll be asking you a series of questions that you should answer as honestly and as efficiently as you can. Shall we begin?"
"Of course," Y/n replied.
He looked down at the clipboard in his lap before speaking,"Alright, first question; please describe your knowledge or experience with online filing systems."
Let's hope she was able to nail this.
