Secret.

Ugh, I hate that word. Whenever I hear it, I instantly freak out inside. Secrets are never a good thing—when others find out about them, they are no longer secrets, therefore causing one hell of an ugly mess.

Tyler goes into super-panic mode, slightly frightening me. The tears falling down from his deep brown eyes are like a waterfall of emotional pain.

"My life is over!" he cries, resting his head on my shoulder, only to sob even more.

I clear my throat and tilt my head to the right, resting it on his. "You don't know what secret he's talking about, though."

After I say that, I try to think about what secret of Tyler's that Kyle is referring to. Other than Tyler's relationship with Jake, he doesn't have any other secrets that I know of. He's kind of an open person to me, meaning that I could pretty much tell you his entire life story without leaving out any major details.

I hate to admit this, but there is a ninety-nine-point-nine percent chance that the secret Kyle is referring to is about Tyler and his relationship with Jake.

Basically, Tyler is screwed.

Welcome to my world.

His phone vibrates again, making my heart stop abruptly. I already know it's going to be Kyle, probably clarifying on the secret and what not.

Tyler unlocks his phone and reads the message out loud. "I never knew you were gay, Macedo. You and Mello? What the hell? Who would've thought that the gayest person on the planet could turn the straightest guy gay."

Well, that's messed up on so many levels.

"Great. My freaking luck." Tyler taps the screen repeatedly with his thumbs, typing out a response. He soon hits "send".

"What did you type?" I ask.

He reads, "How did you find out?"

He pretty much just admitted to being gay.

As we sit in silence, awaiting Kyle's response, I rest my head on Tyler's right shoulder. "Everything will be okay. Trust me. The same thing just happened to me, kind of. We'll get through this together."

The answer to Tyler's question appears on the screen as Tyler says to me, "You're right, Rich. We've got this."

Making kissy faces in the front seat of your car in the front of the school parking lot is pretty freaking obvious.

Little did we consider the fact that we don't know how the hell we'll be able to show our faces in school again.

"At the tone, please leave a message. To place a call-back number, press one. Beeeeeepppp."

"Hey Tyler, it's Richard. Just want to know where the hell you are. It's getting cold outside, and I don't have your car keys, so please come out and get in the car." I hang up, freezing my ass cheeks off. There's nothing better than standing outside in New England when the high temperature of the day is thirty degrees (Fahrenheit, that is).

The school day passed by quickly, surprisingly. Once again, I ignored the Morel siblings for the eighth day in a row (I've been counting). Alia, who happens to be one of the most confusing teenage girls I have ever met, keeps on informing me on how I should try to fix things instead of having them crumble to the ground.

Yeah, okay.

I've been standing outside for a good ten minutes waiting for him. I don't know if he's making out with his boyfriend in the bathroom (hey, they're the same sex, so they can do that) or staying after. If he answered my calls and text messages, though, that would be nice.
