"Hey everyone so I made a slight change to the prologue. Instead of Jake wanting to be a firefighter he wanted to be a cap. You will see why I changed it soon. Big thanks to Katie for giving me the idea. Thanks, girl you rock. Also, she is the inspiration for the main character. So big thanks for that too."

I pause at the door to the fire station, my first day on the job, yay. I walk through the door and head to the front desk.

"Hi, Katie Lasky here for work,"

"Ah, Katie, right on time. I am Heather. I will show you to your station," Heather leads me down the hall to a dest with a note pad, laptop and phone.

"Ok, so your job is to answer the phone and write down the name of the person in need, their location, and what the problem is. Ok?" Heather asks.

"Ok, I can do that," I smile. How hard can it be?

3 hours later:

I sink into my seat to eat. This job is so boring. I have not had a single call, maybe that's why the last person quit. I hear a knock at the entrance of my cubical. I spin around to see the hot fireman from yesterday.

"Yes?" I ask. He leans on the wall his heavy coat is open revealing his bare chest. I look up quickly, trying not to blush.

"Just thought I would say welcome," He has a look of amusement on his face. What is this guy's problem?

"Oh, thank you. I am Katie,"  reply surprised.

"Jake," he nods.

"Huh, I had a friend named Jake when I was a kid," I say thinking out loud.

"Is that so?"

"Ya,"

"Ok, well I should get back. Nice to meet you," he says before walking off. I watch him leave confused with the way he was acting.

"Ok Katie, your shift is over you can head home," Heather is standing at the side of my cubical.

"Ok, thanks for letting me know," Heather leaves with an odd look on her face and I grab my purse and cell phone. What was that about? I turn as I walk out of my workspace to see what she was looking at. There, stuck to the side is a note. I grab it, it's a phone number. Jake's phone number and says "Call me"... I am confused.
