Moonlight Dances

Chapter 4: Tamaki

"What the hell are you doing?!" Nejire had cried out. She pulled out her phone's flashlight and shined it. The man on the ground hissed while the attackers covered their eyes and backed off.

"Piss off! You're getting in the way of Legal Business." The bald one said. His eyes looked hollow and he seemed tired. The blonde giggled like a maniac and stepped closer.

"I have pepper spray and I am not afraid to use it." She warned as he got too close. Nejire had her hand on the trigger, nervous. The guy backed up. "And even if this was for legal reasons, it looks like your beating up a random guy, not arresting him. That's rude. Are you guys like, bad people or something? I doubt he's the bad guy, he looks so harmless!" Nejire shouted. The black haired man on the ground moved his arms away from his face and looked at Nejire. He moved his arms back over when she shined her light in his eyes.

"Sorry!" She winced and turned down the light a bit. She still was able to get a good look at the man. He looked not much older than herself.

That was a kid!

Nejire was more infuriated by these guys now. She started shouting and began to notice her surroundings. They wore uniforms and seemed pissed. Their badges said an obvious Acronym. It was S. U. N. S.

They weren't stars, were they?

She didn't care anymore.

"You're harassing a kid?! The hell is wrong with you? This isn't how officers or whatever the hell you are, are supposed to act."

One of the men looked like a hobo who hadn't slept in a year. His badge said 'Tabe' and he had a wide mouth. She was truly nervous just looking at him. If they didn't care about hurting that guy over there, they certainly wouldn't care about hurting her. 'Tabe' kept lunging at her, making fake out movements that made it look like he was about to take a bite out of her skull. Out of fear, she shielded her eyes, turned away, and sprayed her mace directly into his eyes.

"The hell did you do to Tabe?!" This guys name was Setsuno. He looked criminally insane and it freaked her out. She did the same to him and the bald man. She helped the boy they were attacking get up and began running out of the alley. That pepper spray would keep them blinded for at least twenty minutes, they could at least get away. She held his hand the entire time, dragging him out. He was in too much shock to run on his own it seemed. She hadn't gotten a good chance to look at him directly. She only saw his face. Probably a scared boy that was smaller than her.

"Are you ok?" She panted. She really was athletic but that fright of almost getting attacked had knocked the wind out of her. She was breathing hard as they had finally begun walking to where Yuyu and Kaoruko were.

"I-I'm fine." He stuttered. He didn't seem to be bleeding or have any injuries. "T-thank you." He said. She turned around it look at him and was greeted by his chest instead of his hair or face. She looked up and saw that this guy was actually gigantic compared to her. She was kind of intimidated.

"I'm Nejire!"

"I-I-I...." he stopped to think. She didn't know what he was thinking about but she was curious about his name.

Should he tell her his name? Maybe she'd rat him out to the Suns. But she didn't have any idea who they were, she couldn't do that!

"I- I'm Tamaki."

"That's so adorable! How old are you?"

Truth be told, he didn't know. He hadn't celebrated since he got bitten. He found parties to be a waste of time but his parents forced him to have one. They were mostly for themselves but he got cake in the end. That still didn't forgive the amounts of beer cans and bottles all over the house afterwards. Especially since he had to grab them and that's how he got a few scars. Most of those bottles were broken.

"I-I think I'm... eighteen?" He said as if it were a question.

"Same!" Yuyu tapped on her shoulder, telling her it was time to leave. "I had fun talking with you, I have to go though, here's my number!" She smiled and handed him a piece of paper. She had her number written down on a piece of paper because she forgot it a lot. She could just rewrite it. She gave it to him and ran off.

Tamaki blushed and began running off. He didn't want to risk those Suns getting up and attacking him again.

The movie ended and Nejire was unimpressed. It wasn't as good as the trailers made it look. They turned the guy back into a human. The villain didn't even die and was so easily forgiven! That was just wrong!

Ryuko watched Vampire movies with her as well. She would've been throwing popcorn at the screen because of that ending. Kaoruko and Yuyu, too newbies to the vampire movie genre, were pretty amazed.

"That wasn't even a good movie, why are you guys so... excited? It was boring." She said.

"You think everything is boring. Maybe you should be a director so you can write the endings."

"Maybe." Nejire laughed.

"Anyways, who was that boy you were talking to? Your boyfriend?"

"Definitely not! I just met him. He was getting mugged."

"Ok~" Kaoruko teases and poked her cheeks. Yuyu hissed like a cat.

"You'll make her skin break out!"

"It's fine." Nejire giggled. She was still bored.

They dropped her off and Nejire showered and left. She was too tired to shower, she'd do it in the morning.

(I actually like this more. I feel less lazy, knowing what I'm doing.)
