Moonlight Dances

Chapter 3: Alleyway

Yuyu called Nejire that afternoon to ask if she wanted to see a movie with their other friend, Kaoruko Awaka. Kaoruko was at least four years older than both of them but she was friends with Mirio. Mirio got stuck babysitting his little sister so he couldn't go with them.

Nejire said yes and they planned to go at seven thirty. The movie started at eight thirty but they wanted to get something to eat beforehand. They all paid for their own meals because they were broke teens that just got out of high school and one was in college.

It was only six and Nejire was bouncing. She had no idea what movie they were watching but she was excited. She had already picked an outfit and was itching to wear it. She could shower after the movie because she had showered that morning.

Her brother opened the door to yell at her.

"Nejire, are you getting dinner with your friends?"

"Yeah, tell mom and dad I'm not eating." She said.

"Ok. MOM, DAD, NEJIRE DOESNT WANNA EAT!" He shouted and ran off. Nejire rolled her eyes and waited for the clock to turn to 7. She was anxious to leave now.

7:00!

She squealed and threw on her clothes. Her outfit of choice was a beige sweater, blue shorts that were pretty short but not too short, and ankle boots. She had a small hat that was the same color as her sweater. She tied her hair into a braid and began preparing to leave.

It would take her twenty minutes to get to the cafe by foot, at least ten if she ran. It's not like she could run the entire time. She had a lot of stamina but she would probably be faced by large crowds so it wouldn't be a very good idea to run past that.

So yeah, she walked. She'd meet Kaoruko and Yuyu at the cafe in twenty minutes, great!

She kissed her parents goodbye and they handed her pepper spray. She had always been going like this and her parents always gave her pepper spray so that she would stay safe. Nejire only had to use it once because a creep wouldn't stop following her. A tip she learned from Kaoruko (probably as a joke) was that she should pull out lipstick (which she didn't have) and draw on her face. Make them think she was crazier.

Pepper spray was honestly better.

After her twenty minute walk, Nejire walked into the cafe and just breathed in. She loved the smell of the place. It smelt like bread, butter, and... ice cream? That was pretty cool.

She didn't have to do much to look for her friends, just find Kaoruko's blue hair and Yuyu's red hair. It wasn't even that difficult. She found them in at least four seconds.

Sitting down, Yuyu gave Nejire her tickets. It was a movie she had wanted to see for a while now. It was about a vampire and a girl falling in love. Nejire had an obsession with Vampire stories. Any vampire story was good, except Twilight. She refused to watch any of the sequels cause of how bad the first one was.

Nejire's eyes lit up the most. Her eyes were bright and her face practically glowed with her excitement. She squealed and was freaking out.

There was a small band playing as they ate their dinner. They were pretty good and Nejire would've left a tip but she was kind of broke and couldn't. None of the girls had a car so they had chosen a cafe near the theaters. It would take less time to get to which was pretty cool.

Paying their bill, Nejire bolted out of the door. She was excited to leave after an hour of sitting there, bored yet excited. She was gonna see a vampire movie!

Nejire had to be stopped by Yuyu grabbing her hand. She was getting to excited and needed to calm down.

"Calm yourself Nejire." She laughed and pinched her cheeks. She always seemed to float around when she got excited, like she'd bounce until she got bored. Yuyu was pretty sure she saw her do it at graduation.

Tamaki was in an alleyway. He had ran into it while getting chased. He didn't know the streets well enough and was backed into a corner. If he turned into a bat, they'd probably just follow him home.

One of the men that had followed him had a black hair. His eyes were filled with fear. He was immortal but it was obvious they had the right stuff to kill him with. He could run very fast, but he was too nervous to.

They were obviously going to torture him instead of giving him a short death. He was freaking out when he got closer to the wall. The man with blonde hair sounded insane as he threw Tamaki up against a wall.

He hadn't done anything that should've scared anyone. Maybe he had done something wrong. Had he walked in front of a mir-

He walked in front of stores and his reflection didn't show in the glass windows. Dammit.

That was his mistake.

He was getting thrown around and beaten while they were getting out their tools to murder him with. He was too nervous to move, thinking about how he didn't deserve to live. He had screwed up so bad and now he had to die for his mistake.

He hadn't even bitten a person before. His fangs were basically normal canine teeth. His reflection is all that gave him away and it had to be a coincidence that SUNS were following him. Suns stood for something he didn't remember. Maybe Supernatural Undermines of Natural Species? He knew it had to do with Supernatural species and something else.

He muttered tiny words, begging for help as he was being tortured. The damn Sadists.

"Do you guys hear that?" Nejire asked. Yuyu and Kaoruko shook their heads. She could hear tiny noises that sounded like crying. Maybe it was just a mouse, but her gut told her it wasn't.
"I'll be right back. You can go to the movie without me, I know where it is." Nejire said.

Kaoruko and Yuyu shrugged and just waited. They didn't trust Nejire to actually get to the theater without getting catcalled,mugged, or attacked. They just had to wait.

She followed the noise into an alleyway. She had her pepper spray on hand, she was trained to fight, and she was going to find out what was making that noise.

The light was dim and didn't illuminate the alley very well. She had to squint and get closer just to see three men attacking someone.

"What the hell are you doing?!"

(Did you guys like this rewrite. I personally think it's better because I know what was happening to Tam tam and why Nejire met him. What do you think?)
