Mao Mao collapsed onto the sofa, surprising his girlfriend (y/n) who flinched in surprise.
"Where's Badgerclops and Adorabat?" (y/n) asked when she noticed Mao Mao was the only one who came back to HQ after the mission.
"They're off doing whatever they do in their free time."
Mao Mao sighed and leaned back, resting his head on the back pillows of the sofa. (y/n) frowned at how Mao Mao was acting, he's probably stressed from all the monster attacks and 'out of line' sweetypies.
(y/n) leaned her head against Mao Mao's shoulder and snuggled into his side. Mao Mao looked away with a small blush.
"(y-y/n)."
"Cuddle with me Mao." (y/n) said sweetly while looking up at him.
Mao Mao only nodded, too embarrassed to say anything.
(y/n) smiled and leaned into him more, enjoying Mao Mao's body heat and his soft fur. Mao Mao hesitantly wrapped his arms around the smaller cat and pulled her closer. Mao Mao placed his head on top of (y/n)'s and closed his eyes, enjoying the moment he was sharing with his girlfriend. (y/n) looked up, careful not to move too much and disturb Mao Mao. She smiled at the blissful look on Mao Mao's face.
"I love you."
Mao Mao opened his eyes in shock and pulled his head away so he could look into (y/n)'s eyes.
(y/n) looked back at him nervously. She never said those words to anyone besides family before, so she was nervous to see how Mao Mao would react.
"R-really? You love me?" Mao Mao stuttered with a small blush on his cheeks.
(y/n) only nodded with her own pink blush spread across her cheeks. Mao Mao smiled a little and tried to regain his confidant facade.
"I love you too."
Mao Mao gave (y/n) a small peck on the lips.
(y/n) looked away to try and hide her flushed cheeks. Mao Mao laughed softly and turned (y/n)'s head to face him. He smiled at her and kissed her again.
The kiss wasn't very long or passionate, it was short and sweet. When they pulled away they both had pink dusting their cheeks.
(y/n) smiled at Mao Mao again and cuddled into his side. Mao Mao wrapped his arms around (y/n) and placed his head back on her head. He sighed happily and nuzzled into (y/n)'s soft fur.
They stayed like that for a while until they both fell asleep.
